{"id":363740,"date":"2021-11-08T00:16:33","date_gmt":"2021-11-07T21:16:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/en.buradabiliyorum.com\/infrastructure-bill-secures-billions-for-hudson-river-tunnel\/"},"modified":"2021-11-08T00:16:33","modified_gmt":"2021-11-07T21:16:33","slug":"infrastructure-bill-secures-billions-for-hudson-river-tunnel","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/infrastructure-bill-secures-billions-for-hudson-river-tunnel\/","title":{"rendered":"#Infrastructure bill secures billions for Hudson River tunnel"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&#8220;<strong>#Infrastructure bill secures billions for Hudson River tunnel<\/strong>&#8221;<\/p>\n<div>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module alignleft\">\n<\/aside>\n<p>There\u2019s a light at the end of this tunnel.<\/p>\n<p>The newly passed $1.2 trillion infrastructure bill means New York and New Jersey will soon have a new connection under the Hudson River.<\/p>\n<p>The massive bill gives an $8 billion boost to the long-stalled Gateway Project, which includes the new tunnel, as well as repairs to existing tubes ravaged by Hurricane Sandy.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis rail tunnel is like the aorta,\u201d Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) told The Post Sunday. \u201cIt\u2019s the vital link that connects one side of the Hudson to another and connects Boston to Washington.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The package \u2014 known as BIF, or Bipartisan Infrastructure Frame \u2014 includes $22 billion for Amtrak, pending <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>roval from the Biden administration, Schumer said.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to the $8 billion earmarked for Gateway in the Capital Investment Grants program, the bill also includes $30 billion in funding for Amtrak\u2019s Northeast Corridor, which stretches from Washington, DC to Boston, Schumer said.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1024\" height=\"682\" src=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2021\/11\/Hudson-River-tunnel-343.jpg?quality=90&amp;strip=all&amp;w=1024\" alt=\"damage to the Hudson River rail tunnel in New York. This will get it off to a very strong start.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ve talked to [Department of Transportation] Secretary [Pete] Buttigieg, he\u2019s all on board.
