We once\u00a0likened the din raised by 1,300 industry machers in the cavernous banking hall to the roar of an express train.<\/p>\n<p>When the pandemic sidelined the event last year, \u00a0Mechanic commissioned a jigsaw puzzle from images of past years\u2019 revels and sold them for charity.\u00a0 <\/p>\n<p>He said of the real thing\u2019s return, \u201cIt kicks off the holiday\u00a0season and of course, year-end deal making.\u00a0Hosting this event is a reflection of our commitment to the real estate industry and the resurgence of New York City. Guests won\u2019t have to wear masks although Cipriani staff will.<\/p>\n<p>The event always mirrored the mood of the times \u2014 from \u00a0post-9\/11 gloom to ebullience in years through 2019 when fortunes were made on new developments, giant leases and $1 billion building sales.<\/p>\n<p>It drew developers Larry Silverstein, Douglas Durst, Harry Macklowe, Bill Rudin, David W.\u00a0 Levinson, Stephen Ross and Steven Roth, superbrokers Mary Ann Tighe, Stephen B. Despite the alleged \u201cexodus\u201d from the city \u2014 much of which turned out to be false \u2014 developers are all but <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/trip-and-travel\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"10\" title=\"Trip &amp; Travel\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">trip<\/a>ping over each other to put up new apartment buildings.<\/p>\n<p>Interestingly, very few of them will be of the supertall class that came to define the pre-pandemic boom.<\/p>\n<p>As reported by real estate construction tracker YIMBY, Department of Buildings filings for the second and third quarters of 2021 reveal that 19,052 new residential units are coming in more than 1,000 new buildings. The YIMBY tally counted 45 projects of at least 10 stories, 268 of four to nine stories and 720 of one to three stories.<\/p>\n<p>The site called it a \u201ctestament to the industry\u2019s enduring enthusiasm\u201d about the Big Apple market. It said that if all the new projects were \u201cbuilt together as a single cluster, they would comprise something of a small city by themselves, complete with a dozen or more blocks of low-rise houses and a sizable urban core with over 200 mid-rise buildings,\u201d YIMBY said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, sales of existing residential real estate recently reached a three-decade high.\n                        <\/p><\/div>\n<blockquote><p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">If you liked the article, do not forget to share it with your friends.
