The project utilizes the Stacks protocol built atop the Bitcoin (BTC) blockchain to enable smart contracts and issue its coins.<\/p>\n<p>CityCoins tweeted on Tuesday that it was activating NYCCoin mining this week after Adams\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2021-11-03\/mayor-elect-eric-adams-to-explore-nyc-coin-similar-to-miami-s\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">stated<\/a>\u00a0last week on Thursday that he wanted to have a \u201cCityCoin for NYC\u201d like in the case of Miami.<\/p>\n<p>Adams followed that up on Monday by posting that \u201cWe\u2019re glad to welcome you to the global home of Web3! The 61-year-old is a strong crypto proponent and has vowed to take his first three paychecks in Bitcoin\u00a0and has\u00a0advocated for crypto education\u00a0to be taught in local schools.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe must open our schools to teach the <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/technology\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"4\" title=\"Technology\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">technology<\/a>, to teach this new way of thinking,\u201d Adams said on CNN\u2019s State of the Union on Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>In Miami, the city\u2019s commissioners voted to accept funds generated from MiamiCoin. However, CityCoins noted that it has yet to officially partner with New York&#8217;s government despite the <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">social media<\/a> endorsement from Adams.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCityCoins like NYCCoin are grassroots initiatives.
