The billionaire and his partner,\u00a0Lauren S\u00e1nchez, recently picked up a 14-acre estate on the island \u00a0of\u00a0<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.realtor.com\/realestateandhomes-search\/Maui_HI\" class=\"icon none\">Maui<\/a>. The cost of the off-market transaction was said to be in the neighborhood of $78 million,\u00a0<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dirt.com\/gallery\/moguls\/tech\/jeff-bezos-house-maui-hawaii-1203434163\/\" class=\"icon none\">Dirt<\/a>\u00a0reported.<\/p>\n<p> Bezos, whose company Blue Origin has launched him and a number of lucky guests into suborbital space, <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>ears to enjoy the earthly delights of the the tropical paradise.<\/p>\n<div class=\"paywall\">\n<h6><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Sweet_spread\"><\/span>Sweet spread<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h6>\n<p> Known as the Carter estate, the property is located on the island\u2019s southern shore. Set on La Perouse Bay, the property was previously owned by\u00a0Doug Schatz, co-founder of Colorado\u2019s Advanced Energy, according to\u00a0<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.sfgate.com\/hawaii\/article\/Amazon-founder-Jeff-Bezos-and-partner-Lauren-16590373.php?IPID=SFGate-HP-CP-Spotlight\" class=\"icon none\">SF Gate<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The quiet deal took place without posting a listing in public view, so photos and details of the mansion are hard to come by. However, Schatz apparently purchased the property with business partners for $4.2 million in 1996. Then he and his wife bought out the partners, and proceeded to build themselves a compound.<\/p>\n<p>The offering is said to include a 4,500-square-foot main house, a 1,700-square-foot guesthouse, and a 700-square-foot pool. The holding encompasses seven parcels of land and a fish pond with a private, white-sand beach.<\/p>\n<p>The impressive outdoor kitchen includes a fire pit and ocean views, according to a 2020 article in\u00a0<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.mauimagazine.net\/maui-outdoor-kitchens\/3\/\" class=\"icon none\">Maui Magazine<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h6><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Hot_Hawaii_housing_market\"><\/span>Hot Hawaii housing market<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h6>\n<p>Across the state, Hawaii has been experiencing an extended upside in real estate. A $45 million deal in August set a new Maui record, according to the\u00a0<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bizjournals.com\/pacific\/news\/2021\/08\/05\/beachfront-home-sells-for-45m-sets-new-maui-record.html\" class=\"icon none\">Pacific Business Times<\/a>. Presumably, the Bezos buy, if anywhere near the rumored amount, will massively raise the bar.<\/p>\n<p>The second-richest person in the world is in good company. Other high-profile people making land grabs in Hawaii include Oracle\u2019s\u00a0Larry Ellison, who owns most of the island of Lanai. Meta\u2019s\u00a0Mark Zuckerberg\u00a0<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.mansionglobal.com\/articles\/mark-zuckerberg-buys-600-acres-on-kauai-in-53-million-deal-227124?mod=article_inline\" class=\"icon none\">recently expanded<\/a>\u00a0his property to a total of 1,300 acres in Kauai. The <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">media<\/a> mogul\u00a0Oprah Winfrey\u00a0also\u00a0<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.realtor.com\/news\/celebrity-real-estate\/oprah-winfrey-impressive-real-estate-portfolio\/\" class=\"icon none\">owns<\/a>\u00a0a scenic, 163-acre compound in Maui.\u00a0<\/p>\n<h6><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"The_Bezos_portfolio\"><\/span>The Bezos portfolio<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h6>\n<p>Bezos also owns the Warner Estate in\u00a0<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.realtor.com\/realestateandhomes-search\/Los-Angeles_CA\/\" class=\"icon none\">Los Angeles<\/a>, which he purchased for\u00a0<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.realtor.com\/news\/celebrity-real-estate\/did-amazon-jeff-bezos-overpay-for-his-latest-house\/\" class=\"icon none\">$165 million<\/a>\u00a0in early 2020.
