The tour will begin on February 27 at The Orange Peel in Asheville, North Carolina and end May 1 at De Post in Oostende, Belgium, with 42 more stops along the way. The North American portion of his tour will be in support of Parquet Courts, but he&#8217;ll headline his European dates. He is also slated to perform at Big Ears Festival in Knoxville, Tennessee on March 25.<\/p>\n<div class=\"\" style=\"padding-bottom: 20px; margin-top: 20px; text-align: left;\">\n<\/div>\n<p>            The autodidact desert blues guitar god, who grew up in a strict Muslim household where music was forbidden and built his first instrument in secret from from wood and bicycle brake cables, dropped his fifth studio album, <i>Afrique Victime<\/i>, on Matador in May. In September, he released a <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=pIbV2TvQqzs\">short documentary<\/a> on the making of that record.<\/p>\n<p>            In the newly released &#8220;Live at the River Niger&#8221; video, Moctar and his band play a generator-powered set of four tracks from <i>Afrique Victime<\/i>, sitting cross-legged on a blanket as the sun rises behind them.
