It takes inspiration from Gorillaz, Damon Albarn\u2019s cartoon band.<\/p>\n<p>Major music label Universal is backing the unique act and KINGSHIP will join its stable of artists alongside Billie Eilish, Queen, Taylor Swift and Nirvana. <\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p lang=\"und\" dir=\"ltr\">gm! <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/Jqkvy9Bd2P\">pic.twitter.com\/Jqkvy9Bd2P<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 KINGSHIP (@therealkingship) <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/therealkingship\/status\/1458804296816861191?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">November 11, 2021<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><br \/>\nThe highly collectible 10,000 NFTs in the Bored Ape Yacht Club have been fetching increasingly expensive prices this year. Last month more than $95 million USD worth of Bored Ape NFTs were <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslam.io\/bored-ape-yacht-club\/sales\/summary\">sold<\/a>, for an average price of $170,000. <\/p>\n<p>KINGSHIP\u2019S band manager Nicholas Adler told Cointelegraph that his team wants to \u201cbe leaders in the way that musicians and artists engage in Web3.\u201d Adler also manages Snoop Dogg. <\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cThere&#8217;s a lot of musicians that are in the NFT space, they&#8217;re engaging, they&#8217;re buying NFTs, or they&#8217;re doing basic art drops, but no one&#8217;s creatively released music yet.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The four apes in KINGSHIP belong to earlyy collector Jimmy \u201cj1mmy\u201d McNelis, who recently sold another one of his Bored Ape NFTs for an eye-watering $3.4 million at a Sotherby\u2019s auction. <\/p>\n<p>Adler told Cointelegraph that he had known McNelis on a personal level for about a year before he was <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>roached by Celine Joshua, the founder of 10:22PM, Universal\u2019s \u201cnext-gen\u201d label. He says Joshua has a knack for signing \u201cvery innovative acts\u201d, and calls 10:22PM a \u201cweb three label.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey&#8217;re willing to really kind of break the mold and do some stuff that&#8217;s non-traditional,\u201d Adler said.<\/p>\n<p>After connecting with Joshua, Adler suggested that they go into business with McNelis who owns almost 80 Bored Ape NFTs. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen she and I connected it was really kind of perfect timing,\u201d he said, \u201cBecause we didn\u2019t have to go and buy whatever ape we could get our hands on, we could pick from a really interesting and amazing vault.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Related: <\/em><\/strong><strong><em>U2&#8217;s manager signs deal to expand Bored Ape Yacht Club to <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/watch-movies-tv-seriess\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"8\" title=\"Watch Movies &amp; TV Series\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">movies<\/a>, TV and music<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>As for the future of KINGSHIP, Adler says, \u201cthe narrative is really being developed. This is happening in real time, like much of I think the NFT space is happening in real time.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cThe most important thing for us was to develop a really strong narrative around these apes. The goal is to flesh it out. Who are these characters? What is their backstory? What motivates them? What instruments do they play?
