{"id":366601,"date":"2021-11-13T00:32:04","date_gmt":"2021-11-12T21:32:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/en.buradabiliyorum.com\/jeff-bezos-thinks-earth-will-become-a-galactic-yellowstone\/"},"modified":"2021-11-13T00:32:04","modified_gmt":"2021-11-12T21:32:04","slug":"jeff-bezos-thinks-earth-will-become-a-galactic-yellowstone","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/jeff-bezos-thinks-earth-will-become-a-galactic-yellowstone\/","title":{"rendered":"#Jeff Bezos thinks Earth will become a galactic &#8216;Yellowstone&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&#8220;<strong>#Jeff Bezos thinks Earth will become a galactic &#8216;Yellowstone&#8217;<\/strong>&#8221;<\/p>\n<div>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module alignleft\">\n<\/aside>\n<p>Earth might one day become a vacation destination just like our national parks, according to Jeff Bezos.<\/p>\n<p>The Blue Origin founder said in a new interview that he predicts people who are born in space will one day take vacations to Earth \u201cthe way you visit Yellowstone National Park.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He also spoke of floating space cities that can hold a million people, in a habitat replete with \u201crivers and forests and wildlife,\u201d during a panel discussion at the Ignatius Forum in Washington, DC, this week, <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.independent.co.uk\/life-style\/gadgets-and-tech\/space\/bezos-space-colonies-earth-tourism-b1956834.html\">the Independent reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOver centuries, many people will be born in space, it will be their first home,\u201d said 57-year-old Amazon entrepreneur, who recently pledged to donate $2 billion toward wildlife conservation and developing sustainable food systems. \u201cThey will be born on these colonies, live on these colonies, then they\u2019ll visit Earth the way you would visit, you know, Yellowstone National Park.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Bezos also said that he believes that high-tech colonies in space are more viable than any attempt to start new life on another planet, namely Mars, in reference to Elon Musk\u2019s plan, whose commercial space venture SpaceX rivals Blue Origin.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1024\" height=\"682\" src=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2021\/11\/bezos-566.jpg?quality=90&amp;strip=all&amp;w=1024\" alt=\"Jeff Bezos\" class=\"wp-image-20129971\" srcset=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2021\/11\/bezos-566.jpg?quality=90&amp;strip=all&amp;w=1535 1536w, https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2021\/11\/bezos-566.jpg?quality=90&amp;strip=all 1024w, https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2021\/11\/bezos-566.jpg?quality=90&amp;strip=all&amp;w=512 512w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\"\/><figcaption>The billionaire Blue Origin founder called SpaceX founder Elon Musk\u2019s plans to terraform Mars \u201cdramatic\u201d and \u201cvery, very challenging.\u201d<\/figcaption><figcaption><span class=\"credit\">REUTERS<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Musk has said that he wants to see a million humans colonizing Mars by 2050.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module alignright\">\n    <\/aside>\n<p>\u201cEven if you were to terreform Mars or do something very dramatic like that \u2014 which could be very, very challenging, by the way \u2014 even if you were to do that, that is, at most, a doubling of Earth,\u201d said Bezos.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThen you\u2019re going from 10 billion people to 20 billion people,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>Bezos also nudged the idea of intelligent life-forms on other planets.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHow could there not be. There are so many stars, just in this galaxy. And then so many galaxies,\u201d he said. \u201cThe odds that we are the only intelligent life in the universe seem vanishingly small to me.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Nevertheless, the billionaire is dubious that extraterrestrials have visited our planet: \u201cI very much doubt that. I think we would know if we had been. But are they out there?
