Its shares rose 10% at the opening bell Thursday pushing its valuation over $90 billion. That\u2019s greater than Detroit\u2019s GM, one of the biggest auto manufacturers in the world, which sold more than 6.8 million vehicles globally last year.<\/p>\n<p>By mid-afternoon Thursday, Rivian\u2019s shares were up 17%, trading at $117.82.<\/p>\n<p>Rivian\u2019s goal this year is to produce 1,000 electric vehicles. The company rolled out its first vehicle, the R1T electric truck, in September and plans to launch its electric SUV, the R1S, in December.<\/p>\n<p>Ford is one of Rivian\u2019s high-profile backers, having invested a half-billion dollars into the company in 2019. The other is Amazon, which held a 20% stake in Rivian ahead of the initial public offering.<\/p>\n<p>Rather than focusing on the number of vehicles it has sold, investors are anticipating vast potential for Rivian with the <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>etite growing for electric vehicles. After making a promise on <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Twitter<\/a>,\u00a0Tesla CEO Elon Musk sold\u00a0about 4.5 million shares of the electric carmaker\u2019s stock for more than $5 billion, according to regulatory filings late Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>Tesla has amassed a market value of more than $1 trillion.
