In this article, you\u2019re going to learn, step-by-step how to set up Amazon SES to send email.<\/p>\n<p>There are three ways you can send an email using Amazon SES:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>using the console<\/li>\n<li>using the Amazon SES SMTP interface<\/li>\n<li>using the API<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In this AWS SES tutorial, we\u2019ll be using the SES console to send emails.<\/p>\n<p>From the <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/aws.amazon.com\/console\/?tag=reviewgeek-20\">AWS Management Console<\/a>, search for a \u201cSimple Email Service\u201d and bring up the Amazon SES console.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-4427\" src=\"https:\/\/www.cloudsavvyit.com\/p\/uploads\/2020\/04\/1aff75f7.png?trim=1,1&amp;bg-color=000&amp;pad=1,1\" alt=\"\" width=\"1245\" height=\"414\" onload=\"pagespeed.lazyLoadImages.loadIfVisibleAndMaybeBeacon(this);\" onerror=\"this.onerror=null;pagespeed.lazyLoadImages.loadIfVisibleAndMaybeBeacon(this);\"\/><\/p>\n<h2 role=\"heading\" aria-level=\"2\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Verifying_an_Email_Address\"><\/span>Verifying an Email Address<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>The first thing we need to do is set up an email address that we will be sending from to do this. Now, when I refresh my list. If you are a new user of SES you will only be able to send to verified recipients because your account will be in a test environment called <em>Amazon SES Sandbox<\/em>. You can later apply to move out of the sandbox to lift the recipient address restriction.<\/p>\n<p>In the subject, input <em>SES formatted test<\/em> and then add some text in the body. Now click on <em>Send Test Email<\/em>. You should receive an email.<\/p>\n<h2 role=\"heading\" aria-level=\"2\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Sending_a_Raw_Email\"><\/span>Sending a Raw Email<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Let\u2019s now send a raw formatted email. I\u2019m going to send this email to the same verified address again. One thing you\u2019ll notice is that I no longer have an option to view more options and the <em>Subject<\/em> field is no longer available. These fields will need to be specified in the message box.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-4438\" src=\"https:\/\/www.cloudsavvyit.com\/p\/uploads\/2020\/04\/738834c6.png?trim=1,1&amp;bg-color=000&amp;pad=1,1\" alt=\"\" width=\"902\" height=\"568\" onload=\"pagespeed.lazyLoadImages.loadIfVisibleAndMaybeBeacon(this);\" onerror=\"this.onerror=null;pagespeed.lazyLoadImages.loadIfVisibleAndMaybeBeacon(this);\"\/><\/p>\n<p>I\u2019m going to paste some sample formatted text for this email. Notice that I\u2019m specifying the subject within the message field. The first thing you\u2019ll notice is the big, blue text box telling us that this SES account currently has sandbox access.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-4441\" src=\"https:\/\/www.cloudsavvyit.com\/p\/uploads\/2020\/04\/e8b89042.png?trim=1,1&amp;bg-color=000&amp;pad=1,1\" alt=\"\" width=\"1414\" height=\"601\" onload=\"pagespeed.lazyLoadImages.loadIfVisibleAndMaybeBeacon(this);\" onerror=\"this.onerror=null;pagespeed.lazyLoadImages.loadIfVisibleAndMaybeBeacon(this);\"\/><\/p>\n<p>To start sending emails without the sandbox limitation, you will need to click on <em>Request a Sending Limit Increase<\/em>. Then you\u2019ll need to fill out this form to submit a new case. You can see here how you\u2019re doing on our current sending limit.
