We\u2019re over the Reading Rainbow <\/em>for LeVar Burton!<\/p>\n

The former Jeopardy! <\/em>guest host will officially be heading up the new Trivial Pursuit<\/a> <\/em>game show as permanent emcee. Burton is also an executive producer on the series<\/a> \u2014 produced by game maker Hasbro and Entertainment One \u2014 via his eponymous production company, LeVar Burton Entertainment. The competition series is not yet attached to a network.<\/p>\n

Burton stated, \u201cTrivial Pursuit is one of the best-known brands in the gaming universe. I am thrilled to have partnered with Hasbro and eOne to bring this beloved game to market as a premium show for television.\u201d<\/p>\n

Tara Long, the president of eOne\u2019s Global Unscript<\/a>ed Television and Trivial Pursuit<\/em> executive producer, stated, \u201cLeVar Burton has been an iconic member of American pop culture for decades from Roots <\/em>to Reading Rainbow<\/em> to Star Trek<\/em> and beyond. His love for intellectual curiosity paired with his ability to connect with audiences worldwide make him the perfect partner to bring Hasbro\u2019s beloved trivia game to households in a new and exciting way.\u201d<\/p>\n

eOne\u2019s Geno McDermott and LeVar Burton Entertainment\u2019s Sangita Patel will also serve as executive producers.<\/p>\n

Hasbro additionally is in development on series based on games Magic: The Gathering <\/em>and Dungeons & Dragons. <\/em><\/p>\n
