An insider told Page Six that Linda Macklowe (who is said to have had the real eye for art) was ensconced in a skybox at the auction, while Harry \u201cworked the floor like a pro . . . He was having the time of his life.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The source added: \u201cThe crazy part about this art sale is that it is only the first half of the collection. The rest comes up for sale in May.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Though they made a beautiful collecting team, the Macklowes\u2019 marriage was contentious. One of them, a mysterious Asian buyer, locked in Mark Rothko\u2019s \u201cNo. 7\u201d for a stunning $82.46 million \u2014 the auction\u2019s highest sale.<\/p>\n<p>Others who were bidding hard included, reportedly, members of the Qatar and Saudi royal families. A source from the auction told Page Six: \u201cMany of the big pieces went to foreign buyers, and it is a big guessing <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/game\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"7\" title=\"Game\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">game<\/a> who bought which artwork.\u201dSome purchasers, though, were less than secretive. Sources say that hedge-fund billionaire Ken Griffin bought Gerhard Richter\u2019s \u201cAbstraktes Bild\u201d for $33 million after a lengthy bidding war.<\/p>\n<p>Cryptocurrency investor Justin Sun claimed via <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Twitter<\/a> that he was the buyer of the $78.4 million Giacometti piece \u201cLe Nez.\u201d Sotheby\u2019s reports that it as one of the highest prices ever realized by the artist. Art dealer Helly Nahmad, who was there but did not buy anything at the auction, told The Post, \u201cIt was like fireworks. It was basically everyone being very enthusiastic and bidding. It was like the Roaring Twenties. That was the vibe.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Ironically, Ward told The Post, \u201cThe art collection was what bonded Harry and Linda. If there had been no art collection they would have never stayed together. Harry absolutely respected her eye.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>But, Ward added, \u201cThis was the toxic marriage from hell. The level of vitriol, but at the same time this extraordinary bond, was there. This auction is the ultimate tit for tat.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Other highlights of the auction: Andy Warhol\u2019s \u201cNine Marilyns\u201d silkscreen from 1962, made shortly after Marilyn Monroe\u2019s death, went for $48.5 million, while the pop artist\u2019s \u201cSixteen Jackies\u201d tribute to former first lady Jacqueline Kennedy sold for $33.9 million.<\/p>\n<p>It all adds up to a boon for blue-chip collectors. \u201cOn a macro level, this is good for art in general,\u201d Helly Nahmad told The Post. \u201cThere were bidding wars between serious collectors and also people relocating assets into art, which is a serious asset allocation.
