relationships. (That, of course, is not true when it&#8217;s time for the annual three-show crossover, which goes <em>big<\/em>.)<\/p>\n<p>After all, across <em>Chicago Fire<\/em>,\u00a0<em>Chicago Med<\/em>, and\u00a0<em>Chicago P.D.<\/em>, there have been successes (like Eamonn Walker&#8217;s\u00a0Battalion Chief Wallace Boden and his wife, Melissa Ponzio&#8217;s Donna) and failures (like Jesse Spencer&#8217;s firefighter Matt Casey and his ex-wife, Monica Raymund&#8217;s firefighter and paramedic Gabby Dawson) in the romance department. But going into the 2020-2021 season, we&#8217;re actually feeling quite hopeful about some couples that aren&#8217;t even together at the moment.<\/p>\n<p>Scroll down to see which couples we expect to be together when next season&#8217;s finales end.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Chicago Med<\/em>, Season 6, Fall 2020, NBC<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Chicago Fire<\/em>, Season 9, Fall 2020, NBC<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Chicago P.D.<\/em>, Season 8, Fall 2020, NBC<\/strong>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<div>\n<div data-hash=\"2\">\n<div>\n                                                                                                <picture><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"One Chicago Romance Fire Boden Donna\" src=\"https:\/\/www.tvinsider.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/chicago-fire-boden-donna-1014x570.jpg\"><\/img><\/picture><\/div>\n<p>                                            <span>Adrian Burrows\/NBC<\/span><\/p>\n<div>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Boden_and_Donna_Chicago_Fire\"><\/span>Boden and Donna (<em>Chicago Fire<\/em>)<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Boden and Donna met on a call, and while they\u2019ve had their arguments, there\u2019s been no need to worry about their future \u2014 and nothing suggests that will be any different in Season 9.<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div data-hash=\"3\">\n<div>\n                                                                                                <picture><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"One Chicago Romance Fire Cruz Chloe\" src=\"https:\/\/www.tvinsider.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/chicago-fire-chloe-cruz-1014x570.jpg\"><\/img><\/picture><\/div>\n<p>                                            <span>Adrian Burrows\/NBC<\/span><\/p>\n<div>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Cruz_and_Chloe_Chicago_Fire\"><\/span>Cruz and Chloe (<em>Chicago Fire<\/em>)<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Firefighter Joe Cruz (Joe Minoso) just married Chloe (Kristen Gutoskie) near the end of Season 8, and it\u2019s likely they\u2019ll remain one of the relationships in the background \u2014 especially since Gutoskie is recurring, not a <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/watch-movies-tv-seriess\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"8\" title=\"Watch Movies &amp; TV Series\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">series<\/a> regular \u2014 going forward. While they\u2019ve tackled the risks of his job (before the engagement), that could always come up again, but we\u2019re going to be optimistic about their future.<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div data-hash=\"4\">\n<div>\n                                                                                                <picture><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"One Chicago Romance Fire Severide Kidd\" src=\"https:\/\/www.tvinsider.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/chicago-fire-severide-kidd-1014x570.jpg\"><\/img><\/picture><\/div>\n<p>                                            <span>Adrian Burrows\/NBC<\/span><\/p>\n<div>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Severide_and_Kidd_Chicago_Fire\"><\/span>Severide and Kidd (<em>Chicago Fire<\/em>)<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Firefighters Kelly Severide (Taylor Kinney) and Stella Kidd (Miranda Rae Mayo) already fought through obstacles and jealousy before settling into the committed relationship they\u2019re in now. Really, the only question for next season is whether or not there might be an engagement in their future.<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div data-hash=\"5\">\n<div>\n                                                                                                <picture><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"One Chicago Romance Fire PD Mouch Platt\" src=\"https:\/\/www.tvinsider.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/chicago-fire-pd-mouch-platt-1014x570.jpg\"><\/img><\/picture><\/div>\n<p>                                            <span>Adrian Burrows\/NBC<\/span><\/p>\n<div>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Mouch_and_Platt_Chicago_Fire_and_Chicago_PD\"><\/span>Mouch and Platt (<em>Chicago Fire<\/em> and <em>Chicago P.D.<\/em>)<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Firefighter Randy \u201cMouch\u201d McHolland (Christian Stolte) and Desk Sergeant Trudy Platt (Amy Morton) are as stable as it gets and the most crossover romance in One Chicago, past, present, and future. It\u2019s as simple as that.<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div data-hash=\"6\">\n<div>\n                                                                                                <picture><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"One Chicago Romance PD Halstead Upton\" src=\"https:\/\/www.tvinsider.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/chicago-pd-halstead-upton-1014x570.jpg\"><\/img><\/picture><\/div>\n<p>                                            <span>Matt Dinerstein\/NBC<\/span><\/p>\n<div>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Halstead_and_Upton_Chicago_PD\"><\/span>Halstead and Upton (<em>Chicago P.D.<\/em>)<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>So far, the detectives are only partners on the job, but Season 8 is going to see that change. According to showrunner Rick Eid, the relationship between\u00a0Jay Halstead (Jesse Lee Soffer) and Hailey Upton (Tracy Spiridakos) \u201cis simmering\u201d and we\u2019ll likely see \u201cthese two open up about their true feelings for one another.\u201d It\u2019s only a question of what they do about that, so perhaps by the end of the season, we see them take that step.<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div data-hash=\"7\">\n<div>\n                                                                                                <picture><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"One Chicago Romance PD Burgess Ruzek\" src=\"https:\/\/www.tvinsider.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/chicago-pd-burgess-ruzek-1014x570.jpg\"><\/img><\/picture><\/div>\n<p>                                            <span>Matt Dinerstein\/NBC<\/span><\/p>\n<div>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Burgess_and_Ruzek_Chicago_PD\"><\/span>Burgess and Ruzek (<em>Chicago P.D.<\/em>)<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Season 7 was utterly heartbreaking for the officers (and exes), who learned they were having a baby only for Kim Burgess (Marina Squerciati) to lose it after getting injured on the job. \u201cThere\u2019s also a chance they might reunite romantically at some point in the future,\u201d Eid said, but added \u201cwhether that would h<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>en in Season 8 or not is still unclear.\u201d We\u2019re going to speculate that it\u2019ll happen by the finale.<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div data-hash=\"8\">\n<div>\n                                                                                                <picture><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"One Chicago Romance Med April Ethan\" src=\"https:\/\/www.tvinsider.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/chicago-med-april-ethan-1014x570.jpg\"><\/img><\/picture><\/div>\n<p>                                            <span>Elizabeth Sisson\/NBC<\/span><\/p>\n<div>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"April_and_Ethan_Chicago_Med\"><\/span>April and Ethan (<em>Chicago Med<\/em>)<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Nurse April Sexton (Yaya DaCosta) and Dr. Ethan Choi (Brian Tee) were engaged, until the truth about a kiss she shared with Dr. Crockett Marcel (Dominic Rains) came out. But they were on their way back to one another in the early Season 5 finale. Chances are we\u2019ll see them reunited at some point next year \u2014 if they aren\u2019t already when the premiere picks up \u2014 and we think this time, it will stick.<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div data-hash=\"9\">\n<div>\n                                                                                                <picture><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"One Chicago Romance Med Natalie Will\" src=\"https:\/\/www.tvinsider.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/chicago-med-natalie-will-1014x570.jpg\"><\/img><\/picture><\/div>\n<p>                                            <span>Elizabeth Sisson\/NBC<\/span><\/p>\n<div>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Will_and_Natalie_Chicago_Med\"><\/span>Will and Natalie (<em>Chicago Med<\/em>)<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Both doctors may be involved (or potentially involved) with other members of the hospital staff, but something tells us that Will Halstead (Nick Gehlfuss) and Natalie Manning (Torrey DeVitto) won\u2019t be able to stay away from each other for good. Relationship-wise, they\u2019re good. Family-wise \u2014 they\u2019re fostering \u2014 they\u2019re good.
