If you have two or more images that you want to overlap with each other, we\u2019ll show you how.<\/p>\n<h2 role=\"heading\" aria-level=\"2\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Adjust_the_Image_Layout_Options\"><\/span>Adjust the Image Layout Options<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Before you can overlap your images in Word, you must be sure you\u2019re using a supported layout option. You can check this a few different ways.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Select the image and click the Layout Options icon that <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>ears to the right of it.<\/li>\n<li>Select the image, go to the Picture Format tab that appears, and click the Wrap Text drop-down arrow.<\/li>\n<li>Right-click the image and move your cursor to Wrap Text to display the options in the pop-out menu.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-760923\" src=\"https:\/\/www.howtogeek.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/WrapTextOptions-WordOverlayImages.png?trim=1,1&amp;bg-color=000&amp;pad=1,1\" alt=\"Right-click and choose Wrap Text to review\" width=\"469\" height=\"500\" onload=\"pagespeed.lazyLoadImages.loadIfVisibleAndMaybeBeacon(this);\" onerror=\"this.onerror=null;pagespeed.lazyLoadImages.loadIfVisibleAndMaybeBeacon(this);\"\/><\/p>\n<p>If you\u2019re using the In Line with Text option, you won\u2019t be able to overlap your images until you choose a different layout option. The other picture may suddenly move out of the way to make room for the one you\u2019re dragging.<\/p>\n<p><strong>RELATED:<\/strong> <strong><em>How to Freely Move Pictures in Microsoft Word<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In order to overlay images in Word, you need to enable this option for each picture you want in the group.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Select the image, click the Layout Options icon on the right, and click \u201cSee More\u201d at the bottom.<\/li>\n<li>Select the image, go to the Picture Format tab, click \u201cPosition,\u201d and pick \u201cMore Layout Options.\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-760925\" src=\"https:\/\/www.howtogeek.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/MoreLayoutOptions-WordOverlayImages.png?trim=1,1&amp;bg-color=000&amp;pad=1,1\" alt=\"Select Position, More Layout Options\" width=\"343\" height=\"500\" onload=\"pagespeed.lazyLoadImages.loadIfVisibleAndMaybeBeacon(this);\" onerror=\"this.onerror=null;pagespeed.lazyLoadImages.loadIfVisibleAndMaybeBeacon(this);\"\/><\/p>\n<p>When the Layout window opens, you should be on the Position tab. But if not, select it. At the bottom of the window below Options, check the box to Allow Overlap.
