Photo credit by Robert MacPherson\/AFP via Getty Images<br \/>\n    <\/span><\/p>\n<p>  <span class=\"credit\"><br \/>\n      \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>  <\/span><\/p>\n<p><\/span><\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<style>\n<\/style>\n<div id=\"content_block-226378\" class=\"content_block paragraph text triple_gutter_right triple_gutter_left center_align\">\n<div class=\"content_inner_wrapper\">\n<div class=\"paragraph_wrapper center_align\">\n<p>            Omar Souleyman is no longer in jail after Turkish police arrested the singer on Wednesday for questioning over a charge of &#8220;terrorist propaganda.&#8221; The <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/news\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"2\" title=\"News\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">news<\/a> was first reported by <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.turkishminute.com\/2021\/11\/19\/turkey-releases-detained-syrian-singer-souleyman\/\">Agence France-Presse<\/a> and confirmed by Souleyman&#8217;s manager in an email to The FADER.<\/p>\n<div class=\"\" style=\"padding-bottom: 20px; margin-top: 20px; text-align: left;\">\n<\/div>\n<p>            Originally from Syria, the 55-year-old Souleyman was arrested in his home in \u015eanl\u0131urfa, a city in Tukey&#8217;s southeast. He was reportedly questioned over his alleged connections to the Kurdistan Workers\u2019 Party, or PKK, a political group viewed as a terrorist organization by Turkey and the United States. <\/p>\n<p>            Souleyman&#8217;s manager told <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/world\/middle-east\/syrian-singer-omar-souleyman-released-custody-turkey-2021-11-19\/\">Reuters<\/a> that the singer does not have any links to any terrorist groups, and said that his arrest came as a result of Souleyman&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/trip-and-travel\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"10\" title=\"Trip &amp; Travel\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">trip<\/a> to a region of Syria controlled by the PKK-connected group YPG.<\/p>\n<div class=\"\" style=\"padding-bottom: 20px; margin-top: 20px; text-align: left;\">\n<\/div>\n<p>            Souleyman became popular on the Western festival circuit with the release of <i>Wenu Wenu<\/i>, his 2013 album produced by Four Tet a.k.a. Kieran Hebden.
