In a recent interview with <em>HipHopDX,<\/em> the Jamaican dancehall star explained how the whole thing came about after collaborating with Dark Man X on the soundtrack song, \u201cTop Shotter.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He told a story about his DJ and brother going to an annual dance but he decided not to go as he was grinding in the studio. DMX ended up being at the event and Sean Paul was gutted about missing him, but his fortune changed the next day.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI went to sleep upset,\u201d he said. \u201cThe next morning, I woke up with a phone call from Tony Kelly. My phone was ringing, you know, one of those early cell phones, and he\u2019s like, \u2018Yo, come to my studio now to do a song with DMX and Mr. Vegas.\u2019 I was like, \u2018Yes sir!\u2019 I im<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">media<\/a>tely just ran and left my house. Reached over there, X wasn\u2019t there. It was me, Vegas and the riddim basically. Tony left us in the room and said, \u2018You just build something for it.\u2019 He said, \u2018Hype Williams is shooting a movie and wants a song to put in the movie, so let\u2019s do this.\u2019 I was like, \u2018Alright, wicked.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe did this song \u2019til like 4 in the evening and then about 5 or so, we thought, \u2018Yeah, this is a dope song.\u2019 Then DMX rolls in. I\u2019m like, \u2018Yo, woah, wassup.\u2019 They played the track and he was like, \u2018Hmm, alright, okay. Well, this is what I got.\u2019 And he starts [rapping], \u2018Here comes the boom, here comes the boom.&#8217;\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=4_9ruYUva9c\">https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=4_9ruYUva9c<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Sean Paul revealed the song he and Mr. Vegas were originally singing was something catered to the ladies, so they needed to \u201cgo gangsta with it\u201d to match DMX\u2019s energy. Things were moving so quickly that by the next day, he\u2019d already been invited onto the set of <em>Belly.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>\u201cI was getting more calls like, \u2018Yo, they\u2019re gonna shoot a video and they might put you in the movie, just come along,&#8217;\u201d Sean Paul said. \u201cI was like, \u2018Wow.\u2019 We actually did reach to the stage part of <em>Belly<\/em> and they were like, \u2018Just go up there and sing the song a couple times.\u2019 I was kinda like, so where\u2019s DMX now?\u2019 And he wasn\u2019t there, but they were like, \u2018This is just a scene where they\u2019re gonna show a dance-off but we\u2019re putting this song in the movie.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI was crazy happy. There were a few days out there, just kinda pre-prep and that kind of stuff. X came out there, he was chilling in the tour bus, it was like a bus outside. I remember he called my brother \u201cFarm\u201d because the first time he met my little brother, he came through with a pound of weed.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He added, \u201cIt was good days and just exciting for me as a young artist to be put on such a platform. That was one of the biggest things to happen to me back in the day there. So big up Hype Williams, big up Tony Kelly, big up Vegas and big up the dog. R.I.P.
