“#How ‘General<\/a> Hospital’ Wrote Out Ingo Rademacher’s Jax<\/strong>”

Two weeks after news<\/a> broke that Ingo Rademacher was out at General Hospital<\/em> following his recent anti-vax and transphobic remarks, the ABC<\/a> daytime soap has written him off of the show.<\/p>\n

The last episode for Rademacher, who plays Jasper \u201cJax\u201d Jacks, aired on November 22, and he said goodbye in a scene with his ex-wife Carly (played by Laura Wright). He told her he was leaving Port Charles to deal with business in Sydney, Australia. And it would be the last anyone would see of him, he said, with no plans to return for the holidays. \u201cI\u2019m kind of on the outs with everyone in Port Charles right now,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

That\u2019s true too of Rademacher \u2014 who first joined the cast of General Hospital<\/em> in 1996 \u2014 with his co-stars, following comments he posted to social media<\/a>. The backlash began when the cast disagreed over a COVID vaccine mandate onset in August. \u201cGetting vaccinated does not stop you from spreading the virus,\u201d he wrote on Instagram at the time. \u201cThat\u2019s straight from the CDC. Mandating any vaccine is wrong but especially one that doesn\u2019t help stop the spread, that\u2019s nothing short of crazy talk.\u201d<\/p>\n

Then at the beginning of November, Rademacher reposted a comment calling the U.S. assistant secretary for health, the first transgender four-star officer Rachel Levine, as \u201cdude\u201d on Instagram. His now-former costars Cassandra James, who is trans, and Nancy Lee Grahn, responded to his post.<\/p>\n

\u201cShame on you. You have some serious unlearning and education to do. I feel deeply disapp<\/a>ointed that such a public display of ignorance could come from our GH family,\u201d James wrote. \u201cMisgendering trans folks is violence and if you come for one of us, you come for all of us. The cis world doesn\u2019t get to decide which of us is valuable. I am so proud of the fans for always holding us to a high standard, for calling out transphobia and violence.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

It was in Grahn\u2019s response that she said he was \u201c<\/span>mercifully no longer a part of the <\/span>#gh<\/span> cast. Transphobia & misgendering are disgusting & should be unacceptable in any industry, including soaps\/acting.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n
