However, when their mode of transport is disrupted by federal witch hunters, trouble befalls the family as they struggle to hide two young witches within the walls of their home. As witch hunters close in and strange magic begins haunting the family, Claire discovers that she may have more in common with these witches than she could have ever imagined.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>REVIEW:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Written and directed by Elle Callahan, Witch Hunt opens with the definition of a \u201cWitch Hunt\u201d. Elle Callahan directed and wrote, <em>Head Count <\/em>and <em>H<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>y Deathday<\/em>. <em>Head Count<\/em> was a beautifully intricate supernatural mindbender of a film.<\/p>\n<p>Witch Hunt is a modern-take on what human beings\u2019 rights look like as told by a woman.<span id=\"more-170487\"\/><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-170531\" src=\"https:\/\/horrornews.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/Witch-Hunt-2021-MOVIE-3.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"550\" height=\"756\" srcset=\"https:\/\/horrornews.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/Witch-Hunt-2021-MOVIE-3.jpg 550w, https:\/\/horrornews.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/Witch-Hunt-2021-MOVIE-3-310x426.jpg 310w, https:\/\/horrornews.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/Witch-Hunt-2021-MOVIE-3-73x100.jpg 73w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 550px) 100vw, 550px\"\/><\/p>\n<p>So, back to the film and let\u2019s include the definition.<\/p>\n<p>Witch Hunt<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>A search for, and subsequent persecution of persons accused of witchcraft.<\/li>\n<li>A campaign directed against a person, or group, holding unorthodox or unpopular views, usually based on slight, doubtful, or irrelevant evidence.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>There you have it, the definition, and the opening scene a woman about to be burned at the stake. Why?<\/p>\n<p>Southern California, three months later, we meet a classroom full of teens who are passing notes, they still do that?<\/p>\n<p>The note says, \u201cWitch Bitch\u201d because aren\u2019t we creative. We meet Claire (Gideon Adlon), Fiona (Abigail Cowen), Sofie (Anna Grace Barlow), Megan (Natasha Tina Liu), Jen (Lulu Antariksa).<\/p>\n<p>Apparently, this group of girls doesn\u2019t like this girl they are tormenting.<\/p>\n<p>Claire is in deep thought on her way home from school. Claire is home, and she has an essay to write. She starts doing research. Claire has a big secret. So, they have a witch living in the walls of their house.<\/p>\n<p>This feels like a strange metaphor for the entire world. Everyone is on edge, scared, not knowing what will happen in life. Jacob (Treva Etienne) arrives at their house to change the water and pick up the witch.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-170533\" src=\"https:\/\/horrornews.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/Witch-Hunt-2021-MOVIE-5.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"550\" height=\"228\" srcset=\"https:\/\/horrornews.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/Witch-Hunt-2021-MOVIE-5.jpg 550w, https:\/\/horrornews.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/Witch-Hunt-2021-MOVIE-5-310x129.jpg 310w, https:\/\/horrornews.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/Witch-Hunt-2021-MOVIE-5-100x41.jpg 100w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 550px) 100vw, 550px\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Jacob gets pulled over by Christian Camargo (<em>The Hurt Locker, Dexter<\/em>, <em>See<\/em>) Oh, <em>DEXTER<\/em>, we can\u2019t wait to see you soon. (November 7<sup>th<\/sup> on Showtime.) Back to Christian Camargo, he is a witch hunter. It took me a few seconds to realize that it was Christian Carmargo. He plays this character calm, cool, and collective.<\/p>\n<p>Claire wants her mother to stop helping witches escape, and Eliza (Punkie Johnson) shows up with two sisters in a boxed crate. They were smuggled to Martha\u2019s house. Fiona (Abigail Cowen) and Shae (Echo Campbell). Claire may have some powers of her own?!<\/p>\n<p>While Fiona and Shae are camped out at Martha\u2019s with Claire and her brothers. Life goes on as usual and Martha doesn\u2019t know what happened to Jacob. Claire is at school with her friends and a Border Patrol bus pulls up with witches in.<\/p>\n<p>I think Claire and Martha may be witches or have some kind of connection to witches?<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-170534\" src=\"https:\/\/horrornews.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/Witch-Hunt-2021-MOVIE-6.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"550\" height=\"254\" srcset=\"https:\/\/horrornews.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/Witch-Hunt-2021-MOVIE-6.jpg 550w, https:\/\/horrornews.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/Witch-Hunt-2021-MOVIE-6-310x143.jpg 310w, https:\/\/horrornews.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/Witch-Hunt-2021-MOVIE-6-100x46.jpg 100w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 550px) 100vw, 550px\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Well, Claire may just have powers after all. She takes Fiona out to a diner. They are minding their own business and drinking. Fiona tries something with Claire, and well they have to leave the diner in a hurry. Fiona makes a good point, how is she supposed to control powers that she isn\u2019t allowed to practice.<\/p>\n<p>The metaphor this movie throws out is sad and powerful. The world we live in is beautiful but chaotic. People don\u2019t often see past what they believe. Whatever belief a person has, that is what they see and believe. This movie is telling the story using witches, using women who often STILL don\u2019t have a voice.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-170530\" src=\"https:\/\/horrornews.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/Witch-Hunt-2021-MOVIE-2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"550\" height=\"276\" srcset=\"https:\/\/horrornews.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/Witch-Hunt-2021-MOVIE-2.jpg 550w, https:\/\/horrornews.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/Witch-Hunt-2021-MOVIE-2-310x156.jpg 310w, https:\/\/horrornews.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/Witch-Hunt-2021-MOVIE-2-100x50.jpg 100w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 550px) 100vw, 550px\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Witches and witch craft or magic is another form of taking what we have left as human beings. The lack of empathy and apathy people show to one another in today\u2019s world is sad. It\u2019s funny how sometimes people judge people on things they have no idea about.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-170535\" src=\"https:\/\/horrornews.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/Witch-Hunt-2021-MOVIE-8.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"550\" height=\"244\" srcset=\"https:\/\/horrornews.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/Witch-Hunt-2021-MOVIE-8.jpg 550w, https:\/\/horrornews.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/Witch-Hunt-2021-MOVIE-8-310x138.jpg 310w, https:\/\/horrornews.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/Witch-Hunt-2021-MOVIE-8-100x44.jpg 100w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 550px) 100vw, 550px\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Oh no, Detective Hawthorne, (He just now mentions his character\u2019s name) Christian Carmargo Witch Hunting character shows up at Martha\u2019s house, and he wants to talk with Martha\u2019s husband. Martha\u2019s husband is deceased, and she owns the property. Detective Hawthorne is with the B.W.I. Bureau of Witchcraft Investigations\u2026 Can you even believe that? Well, of course you can, women have been prosecuted and executed for witchcraft since 1692.<\/p>\n<p>Detective Hawthorne is there because of what happened at the diner. Martha alerts Fiona and Shae.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-170536\" src=\"https:\/\/horrornews.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/Witch-Hunt-2021-MOVIE-7.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"550\" height=\"244\" srcset=\"https:\/\/horrornews.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/Witch-Hunt-2021-MOVIE-7.jpg 550w, https:\/\/horrornews.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/Witch-Hunt-2021-MOVIE-7-310x138.jpg 310w, https:\/\/horrornews.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/Witch-Hunt-2021-MOVIE-7-100x44.jpg 100w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 550px) 100vw, 550px\"\/><\/p>\n<p>I think Elle Callahan really has all the elements added in <em>Witch Hunt<\/em>. The school calls in all the girls from grades 9 through 12 to be tested to see if they are witches. Dr. Justice (Assaf Cohen) does the testing. The lights keep going out and Claire sees a creepy looking figure that lurks around the house.<\/p>\n<p>The images and the shots in Witch Hunt are beautifully done. The eerie figures lurking is not overdone which makes it scarier.\u00a0 The ending was sad. I would recommend checking out Witch Hunt, Elle Callahan did a good job. This cast was incredible. Elizabeth Mitchell\u2019s positive, no matter what happens attitude added something to her character. Gideon Adlon who played Claire did a great job giving this character depth and empathy for those around her even when she questioned herself, you could tell she kind of knew.<\/p>\n<p>Make sure to check out Witch Hunt.<\/p><\/div>\n<blockquote><p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">If you liked the article, do not forget to share it with your friends.
