OPEC may even respond by cutting its own production.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Biden\u2019s been pandering to Democratic elites who want America off all carbon-based fuels <em>yesterday<\/em>. He canceled the Keystone XL pipeline his first day in office and rapidly blocked leases to drill on federal property. He\u2019s pushing for new tax hikes on energy producers \u2014 and his energy secretary broke into laughter two weeks back when asked if the administration had any plans to bring gas prices down.<\/p>\n<p>All this pain is part of the \u201ctransition,\u201d Secretary Jennifer Granholm has explained, because \u201cwe have to take some time to get off of oil and gas.\u201d (She also exposed her level of expertise Tuesday by admitting she has no idea how many barrels of oil a day the nation consumes.)<\/p>\n<p>Biden only added fresh insult Tuesday by claiming gas companies are the <em>real<\/em> villains because a recent drop in crude prices hasn\u2019t yet made it to consumers. He asked the Federal Trade Commission to probe \u201cpotentially illegal, non-competitive behavior\u201d in the oil and gas industry \u201cso we can assure American people are paying a fair price of gasoline.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Actually, he already made the same <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>eal to the FTC last week. Does he think the commissioners didn\u2019t hear him?<\/p>\n<p>Reality check: Since oil has to be <em>refined<\/em> on its way to the pump, the two price curves often vary. That\u2019s why, for example, a hurricane that knocks out Gulf Coast refineries can also push up prices.<\/p>\n<p>And, by the way, there\u2019d be more oil in the strategic reserve to release right now, except that (as Sen. Chuck Schumer boasted at the time) Democrats in March 2020 blocked President Donald Trump\u2019s bid to spend $3 billion topping it off at a time when crude was cheap and US producers were eager to sell, rather than shut down fields.<\/p>\n<p>The nation became a net energy exporter in the Trump years; now it\u2019s dependent on imports again \u2014 and all the windmills and solar farms that Biden &amp; Co. can subsidize with taxpayer money won\u2019t bridge the gap any time soon.\n                        <\/p><\/div>\n<blockquote><p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">If you liked the article, do not forget to share it with your friends.
