\n Hawkeye <\/em>director Rhys Thomas has revealed some intriguing details surrounding Marvel\u2019s upcoming Disney+ series, stating that the events of the show will take place two years after the events of Avengers: Endgame<\/em>. This means that Hawkeye<\/em> will jump from 2023 to 2025, or possibly from 2023 to 2024, which either way will make the series the latest entry in the Marvel Cinematic Universe\u2019s timeline.\n <\/p>\n

“Clint’s someone that we haven’t gotten to spend a lot of time with obviously, over the course of the films. We get to see where he’s at, we’re two years after the events of Endgame. And so we get to see what he’s been doing and how he’s dealing with his past.”<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

What this will mean for the series, and even the MCU going forward remains to be seen, but Hawkeye could potentially be our best lead into the future projects, particularly December\u2019s big screen outing Spider-Man: No Way Home,<\/em> perhaps setting the stage for this slight time-jump. The setting is also likely to give the show a lot of opportunities to explore Jeremy Renner\u2019s Clint Barton, in particular how he has been affected and even come to terms with the catastrophic events of Avengers: Endgame and his years as a superhero and former Avenger<\/em>.\n <\/p>\n

\n Thomas goes on to tease this element of Hawkeye, revealing that the human Clint Barton will be dealing with hearing loss thanks to all the punishment his body has been put under while fighting literal gods, super-soldiers and other such apocalyptic threats. “It was an interesting aspect, I think an extra way of discussing and showing his humanity,” the director said. “Because we are used to these characters general<\/a>ly having superpowers and suits and things, but Clint is someone who has been beaten up and thrown around and is a real person.\u201d\n <\/p>\n

\n The production team were careful in depicting Clint Barton\u2019s hearing loss, meeting with consultants and making sure it was as accurate as possible. “So, it was an exciting way to connect that, and to understand hearing loss and being hard of hearing, versus being Deaf. Disney were great in that we met a few times with Deaf consultants to talk us through that world and come to understand it. And I did my best at learning ASL as well.\u201d As many had expected, this will also lead into the introduction of Alaqua Cox as the vigilante, Echo. \u201cIt’s really fun, because I think those details were always very important to Kevin [Feige, Marvel Studios President] in getting them right, and later on we’ve got [Alaqua Cox’s Echo] as well, who is a Deaf character.”\n <\/p>\n

\n From Disney+ and Marvel Studios, Hawkeye <\/em>is a new series set in post-blip New York City, and follows former Avenger Clint Barton as he takes on a seemingly simple mission: get back to his family for Christmas. Possible? Maybe with the help of Kate Bishop, a 22-year-old archer with dreams of becoming a Super Hero. The two are forced to work together when a presence from Barton’s past threatens to derail far more than the festive spirit. Starring Jeremy Renner and Hailee Steinfeld as Clint Barton and Kate Bishop respectively, Hawkeye <\/em>is scheduled to premiere its first two episodes on November 24, 2021, and will consist of six episodes, concluding on December 22.
