In exhaustive and intimate detail, \u201cThe Beatles: Get Back\u201d captures a group on the verge of the biggest band breakup in pop history over almost eight hours of footage that director Michael Lindsay-Hogg originally shot for the 1970 documentary \u201cLet It Be.\u201d <\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1024\" height=\"682\" src=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2021\/11\/the-beatles-get-back-3.jpg?quality=90&amp;strip=all&amp;w=1024\" alt=\"The Beatles\" class=\"wp-image-20262307\" srcset=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2021\/11\/the-beatles-get-back-3.jpg?quality=90&amp;strip=all&amp;w=1535 1536w, https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2021\/11\/the-beatles-get-back-3.jpg?quality=90&amp;strip=all 1024w, https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2021\/11\/the-beatles-get-back-3.jpg?quality=90&amp;strip=all&amp;w=512 512w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\"\/><figcaption>\u201cGet Back\u201d reveals that \u201cLet It Be\u201d was intended to get the Beatles back in front of audiences.<\/figcaption><figcaption><span class=\"credit\">Linda McCartney<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Now, in what feels like a supersized uncut version for Beatles super fans, \u201cLord of the Rings\u201d director Peter Jackson takes you inside the making of \u201cLet It Be\u201d \u2014 and the disintegration of The Beatles \u2014 practically in real time. It\u2019s a slow, but inevitable, fade.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGet Back\u201d \u2014 which takes its name from the closing track of \u201cLet It Be\u201d and was originally supposed to be the album title \u2014 was intended to get The Beatles back in front of audiences after they had decided to stop performing live at the end of 1966. So, after the complex studio wizardry of albums such as 1967\u2019s \u201cSgt. Pepper\u2019s Lonely Hearts Club Band,\u201d this was the band making music to be played live again.<\/p>\n<p>But while the docuseries shows them working out songs such as <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=NCtzkaL2t_Y\">\u201cDon\u2019t Let Me Down,\u201d<\/a> \u201cI\u2019ve Got a Feeing,\u201d \u201cTwo of Us\u201d and \u201cOne After 909\u201d \u2014 which Lennon reveals that he had written when he was about 15 \u2014\u00a0the tension is clear from the start.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1024\" height=\"682\" src=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2021\/11\/the-beatles-get-back-6.jpg?quality=90&amp;strip=all&amp;w=1024\" alt=\"John Lennon and Yoko Ono\" class=\"wp-image-20262421\" srcset=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2021\/11\/the-beatles-get-back-6.jpg?quality=90&amp;strip=all&amp;w=1535 1536w, https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2021\/11\/the-beatles-get-back-6.jpg?quality=90&amp;strip=all 1024w, https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2021\/11\/the-beatles-get-back-6.jpg?quality=90&amp;strip=all&amp;w=512 512w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\"\/><figcaption>Yoko Ono was always by John Lennon\u2019s side during the making of \u201cLet It Be.\u201d<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>After having more creative input on 1969\u2019s \u201cYellow Submarine,\u201d Harrison \u2014 no longer content to simply take a backseat to McCartney and Lennon \u2014 wants The Beatles to have a more collaborative vision. \u201cIt should be where if you write a song, I feel as though I wrote it. And vice versa,\u201d he says.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, McCartney \u2014 as \u201cthe captain of the ship\u201d \u2014\u00a0is frustrated about having to play the taskmaster: \u201cI\u2019m scared of me being the boss, and I have been for, like, a couple of years,\u201d he says. \u201cAnd I never get any support or anything. So I just say, \u2018Hell, well, f \u2013 \u2013 k it.\u2019 \u201d<\/p>\n<p>At one point, McCartney chastises Lennon about not learning the lyrics to <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=QDYfEBY9NM4\">\u201cTwo of Us.\u201d<\/a> \u201cYou have to remember the words,\u201d he says. \u201cYes, I\u2019ve got \u2019em here,\u201d responds Lennon, pointing to his lyric sheet. \u201cWell, learn them,\u201d says McCartney, throwing not-so-subtle shade.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1024\" height=\"682\" src=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2021\/11\/the-beatles-get-back-7.jpg?quality=90&amp;strip=all&amp;w=1024\" alt=\"Paul McCartney\" class=\"wp-image-20262492\" srcset=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2021\/11\/the-beatles-get-back-7.jpg?quality=90&amp;strip=all&amp;w=1535 1536w, https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2021\/11\/the-beatles-get-back-7.jpg?quality=90&amp;strip=all 1024w, https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2021\/11\/the-beatles-get-back-7.jpg?quality=90&amp;strip=all&amp;w=512 512w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\"\/><figcaption>\u201cThe Beatles: Get Back\u201d  depicts Paul McCartney\u2019s frustration with his bandmates during the making of \u201cLet It Be.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>McCartney and Lennon had no longer been writing as much together since Ono came into the picture, and Macca says that he misses \u201cthat being together thing.\u201d But he knows exactly where The Beatles stand in Lennon\u2019s life now: \u201cIf it came to a push between Yoko and The Beatles, it\u2019s Yoko.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Still, while Ono is so glued to Lennon during the sessions that you can see her picking lint off of his shirt, McCartney doesn\u2019t seem resentful of her: \u201cShe\u2019s great. She really is all right. They just want to be near each other. Whatever it is that would please you, I\u2019ll do. But I don\u2019t think you really know what that one is.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Tensions continue to mount until eventually Harrison has had it. \u201cI think I\u2019ll be leaving the band now,\u201d he says. \u201cGet a replacement.\u201d Then he flippantly tells his bandmates: \u201cSee you \u2019round the clubs.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Without their lead guitarist, The Beatles ponder their future. \u201cIf he doesn\u2019t come back by Tuesday, we get [Eric] Clapton,\u201d Lennon says to Beatles producer George Martin.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>But Harrison does come back, under the conditions that The Beatles move the sessions from Twickenham Studios to their own <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">App<\/a>le Studio in London and that Billy Preston is used as a keyboard player. However, Lennon had already informed his bandmates that he was jumping ship before that album was released. McCartney, Harrison and Starr would go on to finish \u201cLet It Be\u201d \u2014 including cutting <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=QDYfEBY9NM4\">the title track<\/a> \u2014 by themselves. But by the time the album came out in May 1970, The Beatles had officially announced their breakup.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGet Back\u201d reveals that, as much as he tried to fight it, McCartney surely saw the split coming. \u201cWe can\u2019t carry on like this indefinitely,\u201d he says in resignation at one point. \u201cWe seem to, but we can\u2019t.\u201d\u00a0\n                        <\/p><\/div>\n<blockquote><p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">If you liked the article, do not forget to share it with your friends.
