Outlander<\/i> fans finally know when the romantic fantasy series<\/a> will return for its sixth season. Starz has set the premiere date for March 6th.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Starring Caitriona Balfe, Sam Heughan, Duncan Lacroix, Sophie Skelton, Richard Rankin, David Berry, Ed Speleers, Maria Doyle Kennedy, Cesar Domboy, Lauren Lyle, Colin McFarlane, Kyle Rees, Tim Downie, Caitlin O\u2019Ryan, Billy Boyd, Jon Tarcy, Michael Xavier, Paul Gorman, Alistair Findlay, Bronwyn James, Chris Larkin, Ned Dennehy, Anna Burnett, and Chris Donald, the series follows time-travel<\/a>ing physician Claire Randall (Balfe) and her 18th-century warrior boyfriend, Jamie Fraser (Heughan).

Starz revealed the following about season six of the drama:<\/p>\n

\u201cThe sixth season of Outlander<\/i> sees a continuation of Claire and Jamie\u2019s fight to protect those they love, as they navigate the trials and tribulations of life in colonial America. Establishing a home in the New World is by no means an easy task, particularly in the wild backcountry of North Carolina \u2013 and perhaps most significantly \u2013 during a period of dramatic political upheaval. The Frasers strive to maintain peace and flourish within a society which \u2013 as Claire knows all too well \u2013 is unwittingly marching towards Revolution. Against this backdrop, which heralds the birth of the new American nation, Claire and Jamie have built a home together at Fraser\u2019s Ridge. They must now defend this home \u2013 established on land granted to them by the Crown \u2013 not only from external forces, but also from the increasing strife and conflict in the community within their care. For the Frasers and their immedia<\/a>te family, \u201chome\u201d is more than simply a site in which they live, it is the place where they are laying the foundations for the rest of their lives. If Season 4 asked \u201cWhat is home?\u201d and Season 5 asked, \u201cWhat are you willing to do to protect your home?\u201d then Season 6 explores what happ<\/a>ens when there is disharmony and division among the inhabitants of the home you\u2019ve created: when you become an outsider, or an \u2018outlander,\u2019 so to speak, marginalized and rejected in your own home.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
