“#New Akuma-kun Anime<\/a> Delivers Dark Visual and Returning Cast Reveal<\/strong>”<\/p>\n

After being revealed<\/span> earlier this year, the upcoming new adaptation of\u00a0Shigeru Mizuki<\/strong>‘s Akuma-kun<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0spooky manga series<\/a> released<\/span><\/a> a brand new visual today alongside the announcement that the cast from the original 1989 TV anime series. The anime is being produced in celebration of the\u00a0100th anniversary of Mizuki’<\/strong>s birth in 1922.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

Returning from the original 1989 series is\u00a0Yuko Mita<\/strong> voicing the titular Akuma-kun, while\u00a0Toshio Furukawa<\/strong> returns to voice both Mephisto 2 \/ Mephisto 3.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

Akuma-kun<\/strong><\/em> follows a strange young boy named Akuma-kun who reincarnates every 10,000 years and tries to create a world free from conflict, strife, and hunger by harnessing the power of demons.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

Created in 1963, the Akuma-kun<\/strong><\/em> manga was serialized in magazines such as Kodansha’s Weekly Shonen Magazine<\/em> (1966 – 1967) and Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump<\/em> (1970 – 1971). The series was also adapted into a TV anime in 1989 with animation production by Toei Animation, who returns for the new anime project alongside the previous\u00a0series director\u00a0Junichi Sato<\/strong> as the general<\/a> director. Fumitoshi Oizaki <\/strong>is serving\u00a0as the\u00a0director while Hiroshi Onogi<\/strong> is penning\u00a0the series composition.<\/p>\n
