\n Alien abduction movies<\/a> have a long history, with plenty of room for creativity. Mostly playing with the suspense and mystery of the pilots of UFOs. Now the topic is being revisited in a thrilling direction with Cosmic Dawn<\/em>! Cranked Up Films brings us the official synopsis, as well as the trailer, below.\n <\/p>\n

The synopsis reads, “After witnessing an alien abduction as a child (and subsequently being told she\u2019s crazy for most of her life) Aurora, now a young woman, joins the UFO cult The Cosmic Dawn after discovering a book written by the group\u2019s leader, Elyse. Aurora\u2019s time at the cult\u2019s remote island compound is marked by miraculous revelations, consciousness-expanding flowers, and a burgeoning friendship with Tom, the resident cook. When a fellow cult member starts to display increasingly bizarre behavior, Aurora begins to question Elyse\u2019s sanity (and her own) and starts looking for a way out.\n <\/p>\n

\n Cosmic Dawn<\/em> was written and directed by Jefferson Moneo and is his second full-length directorial feature, his first being the 2014 crime drama Big Muddy<\/em>. Starring in the film as Aurora is Camille Row, who\u2019s previous roles include Serena in 2020\u2019s Knuckledust <\/em>and Tina in 2021\u2019s The Deep House<\/em>, an underwater thriller. Starring opposite as the cult leader Elyse is Antonia Zegers, whose previous roles include Olivia Fern\u00e1ndez in the 2019 series La Jaur\u00eda and Pamela Rodr\u00edguez in the 2019 series Dignity. Joshua Burge, whose previous roles include Gus in the 2021 series Bad Vibes and Abbie in 2018\u2019s Relaxer, will play Aurora\u2019s love interest, Tom. Finally, Emmanuelle Chriqui, who\u2019s previous roles include Lana Lang Cushing in Superman and Lois, will be Aurora\u2019s friend Natalie.\n <\/p>\n

\n The score of the film is helmed by Alan Howarth, who\u2019s many film credits include the Halloween franchise, They Live and Big Trouble in Little China. The film will also feature original music from Andrew VanWyngarden of indie rock band MGMT. The film was picked up by levelFILM and Cranked Up for distribution in North America. In an interview with Deadline<\/a>, Moneo had this to say about the deal.\n <\/p>\n

\u201c<\/em>Cosmic Dawn<\/em> was shaped by an extraterrestrial encounter I had as a child. Like Aurora in the film, no one believed my story. But perhaps recent revelations will start to change people\u2019s minds. Aliens are out there \u2014 and they are real!\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Whether or not the idea of aliens being real is exciting is entirely up to you. But after looking at this trailer, I think we can all agree that there are bad app<\/a>les in every group, including fans of UFOs. Cosmic Dawn<\/em> will be in theaters and On Demand February 11, 2022.\n <\/p>\n
