data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"7\" title=\"Game\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Game<\/a> of Thrones&#8217;<\/strong>&#8221;<\/p>\n<div>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module alignleft\">\n<\/aside>\n<p>Everyone wants to be king.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGame of Thrones\u201d might have ended two years ago with a less than crowd pleasing conclusion, but its legacy as the biggest show on TV lives on, and several shows are jockeying to take over that position. <\/p>\n<p>Various networks and streamers are putting out big, epic fantasies in hopes of capturing some of that peak \u201cThrones\u201d buzz \u2014 the latest of which is \u201cThe Wheel of Time.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>And that\u2019s not even mentioning the shows that are still coming down the pipeline far in the future, such as Amazon\u2019s big budget \u201cLord of The Rings\u201d show in fall of 2022, Netflix\u2019s \u201cChronicles of Narnia\u201d adaptation (no premiere date yet), or HBO\u2019s\u00a0 \u201cGame of Thrones\u201d prequel \u201cHouse of the Dragon,\u201d which will pass Daenerys\u2019 iconic silver wig down to actors such as Matt Smith.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Here are the current shows that are trying to take the TV throne.\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"%E2%80%9CThe_Wheel_of_Time%E2%80%9D\"><\/span><strong>\u201cThe Wheel of Time\u201d<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>This show is perhaps best positioned to take over the mantle, since the story itself has many similarities to \u201cThrones,\u201d as epic fantasy based on a sprawling book <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/watch-movies-tv-seriess\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"8\" title=\"Watch Movies &amp; TV Series\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">series<\/a> that started in the \u201890s. It even has a set that resembles \u201cWinterfell,\u201d dead bodies positioned in a spiral pattern on the ground just like the \u201cThrones\u201d pilot, and Roose Bolton (Michael McElhatton). It\u2019s too soon to tell if it will generate the same level of buzz, but so far, it\u2019s a little too generic for its own good. Upwards of 5 million people tuned\u00a0in when it aired on BBC in 2019, but it lost 1 million for Season 2 and didn\u2019t crack 1 million in America. The issue? \u201cGoT\u201d wasn\u2019t just a popular show, it also had the trappings of prestige, with stellar acting and (mostly) decent writing. According to Netflix, 55 million households tuned in. The show was widely watched but it didn\u2019t generate much watercooler buzz. Unfortunately for the rest of the cast and crew, \u201cThe Nevers\u201d premiered at the worst time possible, right when Whedon fell from grace under a cloud of allegations.
