Encanto<\/em> opened below initial box office predictions, with many analysts pointing to the other family movies<\/a> available to presently watch in theaters. Ghostbusters: Afterlife<\/em> was the main competition, and Disney narrowly beat the latest in the Ghostbusters<\/em> franchise to take the number one spot over the long weekend.\n <\/p>\n

The movie has received mixed reviews from viewers and critics, though Lady Gaga\u2019s performance has been praised. Marvel Studios\u2019 Eternals<\/em> fell to number four with $7.9 million.
