Aquaplus<\/strong> announced that it is developing a new game in the Utawarerumono franchise titled Monochrome Moebius: Toki no Taika<\/em> as part of the series<\/a>\u2019 20th anniversary. The game will launch sometime in 2022. Its platforms are yet to be announced.<\/span><\/p>\n

Suga Munemitsu<\/strong> (Utawarerumono franchise head writer) is credited for the game\u2019s original concept and script<\/a>, series character designers Tatsuki Amazuyu<\/strong> and Misato Mitsumi<\/strong> will return for the original character designs, and Aquaplus composer Naoya Shimokawa<\/strong> is the game\u2019s music composer.<\/span><\/p>\n

The first\u00a0Utawarerumono\u00a0game was released in 2002, while the second game was released in 2015. The series has inspired spin-offs, manga<\/a>, and various anime adaptations, including 2006\u2019s\u00a0Utawarerumono<\/em>, a 2009\u00a0Utawareumono<\/em>\u00a0OVA, 2015\u2019s\u00a0Utawarerumono The False Faces<\/em>, and the 2018\u00a0Utawarerumono: Tusukuru-koujo no Karei Naru Hibi\u00a0<\/em>OVA.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

The latest game in the franchise Utawarerumono: Mask of Truth, <\/em>released in Japan in 2016 for PS3, PS4, and PS Vita. An English version was published in 2017. The game was later released on Steam in 2020.<\/span><\/p>\n
