\nThey say the best love stories start as friendships, and it seems like that\u2019s the case for Jason Oppenheim<\/strong> and Chrishell Stause<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The Selling Sunset<\/em> costars started dating in May, but before that they were longtime friends and coworkers (well, boss and employee, technically ). In fact, Jason used to date Chrishell\u2019s BFF Mary Fitzgerald<\/strong>, so the pair probably didn\u2019t expect they would ever end up together romantically.<\/p>\n

The Oppenheim Group<\/strong> cofounder confirmed as much during an interview with Us Weekly<\/em> on Monday. He shared:<\/p>\n

\u201cI think I can speak for both of us in saying that we weren\u2019t thinking about each other romantically [before]. Even [after we got together], I don\u2019t think we were \u2026 taking it very seriously then either. So, it was definitely an interesting process.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

He added:<\/p>\n

\u201cThere was definitely a transition. We had been so open about what we were looking for with each other because we had become close friends. She knew my dating life, and we would almost joke about our each other\u2019s dating lives and what we were looking for and things like that.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Unfortunately for fans of the Netflix<\/strong> reality show, their relationship wasn\u2019t featured on the recently released fourth season. We\u2019ll just have to wait for season five to see the cast\u2019s on-camera reaction to the romance.<\/p>\n

In the meantime, the 44-year-old explained to Us<\/em> that they shared the relationship news<\/a> with \u201cclose friends\u201d before going public. That group included some colleagues, too \u2014 and Jason said none of them were \u201cseriously\u201d worried about Chrishell being favored in the workplace because of it. He said:<\/p>\n

\u201cOverall, everyone was really supportive.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

No kidding \u2014 even his ex, Mary, told People<\/em> she \u201c100 percent [app<\/a>roves] of their relationship and immedia<\/a>tely gave them both my full support and love.\u201d In fact, she claimed that employees at the brokerage \u201care all very close and consider each other family, so it will bring us closer together if anything.\u201d Pretty good news for Jason as the boss!<\/p>\n

The reality star reflected to Us<\/em>:<\/p>\n

\u201cI think we\u2019re pretty open and pretty honest about our relationship and where we are and the things that we\u2019re talking about. When we\u2019re together on camera and off camera, it\u2019s easy for us to just be open and honest, because I think there\u2019s a lot of trust there.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

He even gushed:<\/p>\n

\u201cI love her.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Aww!<\/p>\n

Glad their relationship continues to blossom. After all of Chrishell\u2019s romantic drama, she deserves a good guy. Now we just have to wait until season five comes out so we can see it unfold on screen!<\/p>\n
