\nWhile many eager listeners have been unpacking their Spotify Wrapp<\/a>ed all day, SoundCloud also released their annual end-of-the-year review, known as \u201cThe SoundCloud Playback,\u201d which showcased YoungBoy Never Broke Again, Polo G, Trippe Redd, and SoFaygo, among other rappers that had massive years on the streaming platform.<\/p>\n

SoundCloud\u2019s Top Artist was YoungBoy Never Broke Again, and \u201cRapstar\u201d by Polo G was deemed \u201cHit of the Year,\u201d \u201cHardest Hit\u201d and \u201cLongest Run,\u201d as it spent 7 weeks at No. 1 and had the most fan engagement on a track within 24 hours.<\/p>\n

SoFayGo was deemed \u201cTop Independent Artist,\u201d while Trippie Redd\u2018s \u201cHoly Smokes\u201d with Lil Uzi Vert was deemed \u201cJam of the Summer.\u201d Sweely had the most growth in fan engagement on SoundCloud in 2021, and was awarded the \u201cFan-Powered Artist\u201d accolade, and\u00a0A1 x J1 was awarded \u201cBiggest Debut of 2021.\u201d<\/p>\n

YoungBoy has musically had a solid 2021 despite his legal woes. Aside from being SoundCloud\u2019s champion, his September project\u00a0Sincerely, Kentrell<\/em> de-throned Drake\u2019s Certified Lover Boy<\/em> from Billboard\u2019s No. 1 spot. Birdman also announced on Tuesday (November 30) that his collaboration with the Baton Rouge rapper\u00a0From The Bayou<\/em> will finally drop on Friday, nearly four years after it was initially teased.<\/p>\n

However, YoungBoy recently told DJ Akademiks during a Clubhouse discussion that music \u201cbrings too many problems\u201d and that he\u2019ll likely retire soon.<\/p>\n
