She\u2019s doing it again with \u201cBlack Is King,\u201d her new visual album \u2014 a companion to her African-inspired \u201cThe Lion King: The Gift\u201d LP from last summer \u2014 which premieres Friday on Disney .<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBlack excellence is a form of protest,\u201d Beyonc\u00e9 said when she dropped her empowering \u201cBlack Parade\u201d single on Juneteenth to benefit black-owned small businesses in need.<\/p>\n<p>Here, The Post goes inside 38-year-old Beyonc\u00e9\u2019s queendom to look at the black artists she has supported during her reign, from \u201cLemonade\u201d to \u201cBlack Is King.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Melina_Matsoukas_director\"><\/span><strong>Melina Matsoukas, director<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<figure id=\"attachment_16059853\"><img alt=\"Melina Matsoukas \" data- data- height=\"993\" width=\"662\"><\/img><figcaption><span>Melina Matsoukas<\/span><span>Getty Images for ESSENCE<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>When Bey pulls one of her classic surprises just for you, you know you are in the inner-inner circle. That\u2019s exactly what h<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>ened when Beyonc\u00e9 made an appearance at last year\u2019s AFI Life Achievement Award Tribute to Denzel Washington to present the Franklin J. Schaffner Alumni Medal to Matsoukas, who, after directing such Beyonc\u00e9 videos as \u201cUpgrade U\u201d and \u201cDiva,\u201d was instrumental in the making of the \u201cLemonade\u201d film by lensing the already-legendary \u201cFormation\u201d clip.<\/p>\n<p>In presenting the award, Beyonc\u00e9 said, \u201c[Matsoukas] is holding up a mirror for people who look like you and me to see ourselves, saying, \u2018You are beautiful, and your stories matter.\u2019 \u201d And Matsoukas, 39, did exactly that when she made her feature directorial debut with the powerful \u201cQueen &#038; Slim\u201d in November.<\/p>\n<hr>\n<\/hr>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Blitz_the_Ambassador_director-rapper\"><\/span><strong>Blitz the Ambassador, director-rapper<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<figure id=\"attachment_16059861\"><img alt=\"Blitz the Ambassador\" data- data- height=\"441\" width=\"662\"><\/img><figcaption><span>Blitz the Ambassador<\/span><span>Getty Images<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The 38-year-old Brooklyn-based, Ghanaian-born artist \u2014 whose real name is Samuel Bazawule \u2014 shot his royal shot as one of the directors in \u201cBlack Is King.\u201d But he\u2019s not the only director of African descent whose skills bring an authentic vision to \u201cBlack Is King\u201d: Beyonc\u00e9 also squadded up with Ghanaian-Dutch filmmaker Emmanuel Adjei, Nigerian-British director Jenn Nkiru and Ibra Ake, the Nigerian-American who produced Childish Gambino\u2019s Grammy Award-winning \u201cThis Is America\u201d video.<\/p>\n<hr>\n<\/hr>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"SAINt_JHN\"><\/span><strong>SAINt JHN<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<figure id=\"attachment_16059865\"><img alt=\"Saint Jhn\" data- data- height=\"441\" width=\"662\"><\/img><figcaption><span>SAINt JHN<\/span><span>Anthony J Causi<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Before he hit the upper regions of the Billboard Hot 100 with a remix of \u201cRoses,\u201d this 33-year-old Brooklyn-born artist of Guyanese descent (born Carlos St. John) was already getting down with Beyonc\u00e9, her 8-year-old daughter Blue Ivy \u2014 in her singing and songwriting debut \u2014 and Nigeria\u2019s Wizkid on \u201cBrown Skin Girl\u201d from \u201cThe Lion King: The Gift.\u201d Among the other artists who represented Mother Africa on the LP are Nigeria\u2019s Burna Boy (\u201cJa Ara E\u201d), Cameroon\u2019s Salatiel (\u201cWater\u201d) and Ghana\u2019s Lord Afrixana (\u201cDon\u2019t Jealous Me\u201d).<\/p>\n<hr>\n<\/hr>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Chloe_x_Halle_singers\"><\/span><strong>Chloe x Halle, singers<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span><iframe loading=\"lazy\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/a9HIaGcBocc?version=3&#038;rel=1&#038;fs=1&#038;autohide=2&#038;showsearch=0&#038;showinfo=1&#038;iv_load_policy=1&#038;wmode=transparent\" title=\"Video\" width=\"640\"><\/iframe><\/span><\/p>\n<p>After Beyonc\u00e9 caught wind of their viral <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">YouTube<\/a> cover of her single \u201cPretty Hurts,\u201d sisters Chloe and Halle Bailey \u2014 22 and 20, respectively \u2014 were signed to Bey\u2019s Parkwood Entertainment in 2015. Mrs. Carter then featured the sister act in her \u201cLemonade\u201d film and brought them along as the opening act for the European leg of her \u201cFormation World Tour.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Obviously, she taught them well: They received two Grammy nods for their debut album, 2018\u2019s \u201cThe Kids Are Alright,\u201d and recently followed that LP up with \u201cUngodly Hour.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cJust like the entire world, we love Beyonc\u00e9 with our whole hearts,\u201d Chloe recently told The Post. \u201cShe\u2019s a fantastic businesswoman, and she\u2019s not afraid to take control and be the boss.\u201d Added Halle: \u201cJust watching her \u2014 watching her work, watching her live \u2014 I mean, it\u2019s inspirational. I was very shocked,\u201d Freedia, 42, once told The Post. \u201cI was like, \u2018The Queen B knows who I am!\u2019 I kind of lost it in my mind when it came out.
