\nBuzzing Dreamville rapper Cozz returned with a harrowing new EP called\u00a0Fortunate<\/em>\u00a0that explores the hurdles the Cali rapper had to navigate to find success.<\/p>\n

Cozz\u2019s first new project since 2018\u2019s\u00a0Effected,\u00a0<\/em>the seven-track EP includes one feature from fellow L.A. rapper YG on \u201cControl Problems.\u201d An hour before the EP\u2019s release, Cozz actually took to Twitter<\/a> to air his grievances about how his tracks chronologically appeared on streaming services.<\/p>\n

\u201cNo lie I\u2019m frustrated cuz I had an idea of how I want people to hear this ep but technical difficulties ddnt allow that to happen,\u201d Cozz wrote.<\/a>\u00a0\u201cWhat\u2019s below is the order so if u care enough, listen as is but if not fuck it the music is the same. This will be fixed by Friday enjoy.\u201d<\/p>\n

On tracks like \u201cCry,\u201d Cozz reflects on the trauma he experienced growing up in L.A., and on \u201cAddicted\u201d he explains how he\u2019s tried to abandon different vices throughout his life. The YG-assisted \u201cControl Problems\u201d is a fun breather of a track where Cozz merely raps about how he pays no mind to inferior rappers.<\/p>\n

The 28-year-old could be heard all across 2019\u2019s collaborative Dreamville tape\u00a0Revenge of the Dreamers III<\/em>. The album debuted in the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200, and was nominated for Best Rap Album at the 2020 Grammys. The project was certified platinum in 2020 as well.<\/p>\n

Cozz was featured on \u201cDon\u2019t Hit Me Right Now\u201d alongside Bas, Baby Tate, Guapdad 4000 and Buddy, and on \u201c1993\u201d with J. Cole himself, which was a massive deal considering Cole\u2019s claim to fame of \u201cgoing platinum with no features\u201d for three straight albums.\u00a0\u201cLambotruck,\u201d which featured Cozz, REASON and Childish Major was\u00a0even given the visual treatment.\u00a0In fact, J Cole\u2019s stunned reaction to hearing Cozz and REASON trade bars about robbing him on the song\u00a0went viral<\/a>\u00a0a day before the video dropped.<\/p>\n
