This handy feature allows you to filter tables, charts, or pivot tables in your spreadsheet. We\u2019ll show you how to put them to use.<\/p>\n<h2 role=\"heading\" aria-level=\"2\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"What_Is_a_Slicer_in_Google_Sheets\"><\/span>What Is a Slicer in Google Sheets?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>As mentioned, you can use a slicer to filter data. So you may be wondering how this is different or better than the filters available in Google Sheets.<\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s simple: a slicer can remain on your sheet, and, with simple buttons, you can filter the table or chart attached. This makes the tool ideal for manipulating data at a glance.<\/p>\n<p>If you <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.howtogeek.com\/729347\/how-to-filter-in-google-sheets\/\">use a filter in Google Sheets, you cannot save it for reuse. For our example, we\u2019ll <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.howtogeek.com\/762481\/how-to-make-a-pie-chart-in-google-sheets\/\">use a pie chart\u00a0so you can see how easily the data is filtered.
