{"id":376949,"date":"2021-12-06T00:40:15","date_gmt":"2021-12-05T21:40:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/en.buradabiliyorum.com\/chris-cuomo-faces-sexual-misconduct-claim-from-ex-abc-colleague-sources\/"},"modified":"2021-12-06T00:40:15","modified_gmt":"2021-12-05T21:40:15","slug":"chris-cuomo-faces-sexual-misconduct-claim-from-ex-abc-colleague-sources","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/chris-cuomo-faces-sexual-misconduct-claim-from-ex-abc-colleague-sources\/","title":{"rendered":"#Chris Cuomo faces sexual misconduct claim from ex-ABC colleague: sources"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&#8220;<strong>#Chris Cuomo faces sexual misconduct claim from ex-ABC colleague: sources<\/strong>&#8221;<\/p>\n<div>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module alignleft\">\n<\/aside>\n<p>CNN fired Chris Cuomo after learning he\u2019d been accused of sexual misconduct by a woman who formerly worked with him at ABC, sources told The Post on Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>The unidentified woman is set to be interviewed by outside lawyers hired by CNN this week, pending an agreement to keep her identity and everything she says confidential, sources said.<\/p>\n<p>Cuomo, 51, hasn\u2019t been formally told the accuser\u2019s name but is believed to have figured it out based on information in a letter her lawyer sent to CNN last week, sources said.<\/p>\n<p>The woman was previously described only as \u201ca former junior colleague at another network\u201d by the <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2021\/12\/04\/business\/media\/chris-cuomo-fired-cnn.html\">New York Times,<\/a> which first reported on the new allegations after Cuomo\u2019s termination  Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>Cuomo was a <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/news\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"2\" title=\"News\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">news<\/a> anchor for ABC\u2019s \u201cGood Morning America\u201d from 2006 to 2009 and also served as anchor of the network\u2019s \u201c20\/20\u201d before leaving in 2013 to co-host CNN\u2019s morning show.<\/p>\n<p>The firing of the \u201cCuomo Prime Time\u201d star came just four days after he was suspended over revelations that he tried to help his brother, former Gov. Andrew Cuomo, fight sexual-harassment allegations by contacting news industry sources for information and by seeking details about at least one accuser.<\/p>\n<p>CNN felt compelled to fire Chris Cuomo after learning of the new allegations against him last week, a TV insider told The Post. Chris Cuomo was previously accused of grabbing the rear end of a female ABC producer in 2005 and of causing a female producer to <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2021\/09\/27\/melanie-buck-felt-threatened-enough-by-chris-cuomo-to-quit-show\/\">leave his CNN show<\/a> last year because she \u201cfelt threatened.\u201d <\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1024\" height=\"682\" src=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2021\/12\/debra-katz.jpg?quality=90&amp;strip=all&amp;w=1024\" alt=\"Debra Katz, an attorney for Charlotte Bennett,  said in a statement that she contacted CNN on Wednesday to report the woman's unspecified misconduct claims against Chris Cuomo.\" class=\"wp-image-20381046\" srcset=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2021\/12\/debra-katz.jpg?quality=90&amp;strip=all&amp;w=1535 1536w, https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2021\/12\/debra-katz.jpg?quality=90&amp;strip=all 1024w, https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2021\/12\/debra-katz.jpg?quality=90&amp;strip=all&amp;w=512 512w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\"\/><figcaption>Attorney Debra Katz said in a statement that she contacted CNN on Wednesday to report her client\u2019s unspecified misconduct claims against Chris Cuomo.<\/figcaption><figcaption><span class=\"credit\">AP Photo\/Manuel Balce Ceneta<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cFrom a legal standpoint, CNN had cause to fire Chris on Friday based on the Letitia James information,\u201d the source said, referring to documents released last week by the state attorney <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/general\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"3\" title=\"General\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">general<\/a> on her office\u2019s probe into Andrew Cuomo, which included new details about his brother advising him during the scandal.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFrom a practical standpoint, when the sexual-misconduct claim came in, CNN decided, \u2018Enough is enough.&#8217;\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In a statement to the Times on Saturday night, a CNN spokeswoman said, \u201cWhen new allegations came to us this week, we took them seriously, and saw no reason to delay taking im<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">media<\/a>te action.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>On Sunday, the accuser\u2019s lawyer, Debra Katz, said in a statement that she contacted CNN on Wednesday to report the woman\u2019s unspecified misconduct claims against Chris Cuomo.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBy Friday, I was in discussions with CNN about providing documentary evidence of my client\u2019s allegations and making my client available for an interview with CNN\u2019s outside counsel,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module alignright\">\n    <\/aside>\n<p>Katz has told CNN she\u2019ll identify the woman and let her be interviewed by the company\u2019s lawyers only after the network agrees to sign a non-disclosure agreement, sources familiar with the matter told The Post.<\/p>\n<p>The lawyers are preparing to interview the woman this week, CNN insiders said.<\/p>\n<p>The matter is being handled by the white-shoe law firm of Cravath, Swaine &amp; Moore, the network\u2019s chief media correspondent, Brian Stelter, said on his \u201cReliable Sources\u201d program on CNN on Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>Katz \u2014 who also represents one of Andrew Cuomo\u2019s accusers, former aide Charlotte Bennett \u2014 did not immediately respond to a Post request for comment.<\/p>\n<p>Chris Cuomo\u2019s spokesman, Steven Goldberg, said in a statement that \u201cthese <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp;
