\nAlec<\/strong> and Hilaria Baldwin<\/strong> are finally going off grid\u2026 partially, at least.<\/p>\n

Variety<\/em> reported that the actor\u2019s Twitter<\/strong> page, where he first released a statement on the Rust<\/em> shooting, was deleted sometime on Sunday. His wife app<\/a>arently followed suit, deleting her own account on Monday morning. The Hilaria and Alec Baldwin Foundation<\/strong> Twitter account, @ABFalecbaldwin, has also been deleted.<\/p>\n

The 30 Rock<\/em> alum still has one active account on the site (@AlecBaldwln____), though it hasn\u2019t been used since two days before the shooting and posts were infrequent before then. (The profile bio reads, \u201cthis is a social media phantom limb\u2026\u201d.)<\/p>\n

The decision to go dark on Twitter comes after the 63-year-old\u2019s bombshell interview with ABC News<\/a><\/em> in which he discussed the fatal accident and the death of his colleague Halyna Hutchins<\/strong> at length. Per Deadline<\/em>, it\u2019s not the first time he\u2019s deleted his page amidst controversy; previously, he also removed his account during Hilaria\u2019s Spanish heritage kerfuffle.<\/p>\n

The couple hasn\u2019t disappeared from social media completely, though. Both are still active on their Instagram<\/strong> accounts, and the fitness instructor seems to be posting there with her usual frequency. On Sunday, she warned followers about a fake Alec IG account in between her usual \u201cBaldwinitos\u201d updates.<\/p>\n

We can\u2019t imagine what it\u2019s like to navigate this situation, but taking a step back from social media seems like a smart strategy. We\u2019ll see if this eventually extends to Instagram as well.<\/p>\n
