“#Kim Dickens Sheds Light on Fear the Walking Dead Return: “Madison is Back!”<\/strong>”<\/p>\n

Fear the Walking Dead fans everywhere were in shock during Sunday’s episode of Talking Dead revealed that Kim Dickens would be reprising her role on the show.<\/p>\n

On the aforementioned episode, Kim dropped the news<\/a> fans have been waiting almost four years for.<\/p>\n

Madison is back,” Dickens declared, adding the following:<\/p>\n

\n

\"Madison<\/img><\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n

\u201cWe can confirm it, she\u2019s alive.\u201d<\/p>\n

While the announcement came as a huge surprise to fans clamoring for more of the former lead after she was killed off-screen, the plan has been in place to bring her back for a while.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve had the secret, I think probably since this whole year,” the star told the audience.<\/p>\n

\n

\"Kim<\/img><\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n

“The end of the last year, I get a text from Colman, who was on set, and it said, \u2018Girl, you need to call me.\u2019 So, I called him, and he was on set, and I said \u2018Why, what\u2019s going on?\u2019 and he goes \u2018Someone was asking about you on set,\u2019 and I was like, \u2018Why are they asking about me?\u2019”<\/p>\n

“So, it turns out they were trying to gauge my temperature and sort of availability for a conversation with them, and I said \u2018absolutely.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

Dickens said that the meeting was scheduled for early January, and it was a success.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo, we all talked, Ian, Andrew, Scott and I Zoomed [in] early-January,\u201d Dickens revealed.<\/p>\n

\n

\"Kim<\/img><\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n

\u201cThey gave me their pitch and I was more excited than I even imagined I would be.\u201d<\/p>\n

The exit during Fear the Walking Dead Season 4 came as the show was going through changes behind the scenes, and it shocked both fans and Dickens herself.<\/p>\n

\u201cI also thought there was so many more stories to tell and so many more places to go, so I was initially shocked and disapp<\/a>ointed and heartbroken,\u201d said Dickens to EW following her exit.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut you know, it\u2019s in the hands of the writers and the producers, and that\u2019s the fate that befalls so many of the characters in this genre.”<\/p>\n

\"Mama<\/img><\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n

“Basically, the message is, no one\u2019s safe. And these kinds of deaths will ultimately propel the story of the other characters into other places.”<\/p>\n

“It\u2019s part of the genre, it\u2019s part of the storytelling device, and I just have to wrap my head around it and go into production.\u201d<\/p>\n

There have been many theories throughout the years since that called for Madison’s return, and now it looks like we’ll be getting some major payoff.<\/p>\n

Dickens is back as a series<\/a> regular, with her first appearance coming in the back half of the seventh season.<\/p>\n

\n

\"Consequences<\/img><\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n

She will then return on a more permanent basis on the just-ordered Season 8.<\/p>\n

Dickens was complimentary of the show’s current form on Talking Dead over the weekend.<\/p>\n

“I was able to tune in on Season 7 and I just think it\u2019s gone epic beyond epic,\u201d the actress said.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s incredible to watch, it\u2019s like visually stunning, and the work that everyone\u2019s doing is so exciting and impressive.”<\/p>\n

\n

\"Battle<\/img><\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n

“I watched it and I was like, \u2018Well, that looks like a show I\u2019d really like to be on.\u2019 So, it\u2019s going to be fun to go back and work with all the new characters and find out what\u2019s happened. I\u2019m a little nervous about that war between two of my favorites.\u201d<\/p>\n

Fear the Walking Dead is set to return to AMC Sunday, April 17.<\/p>\n
