The global COVID-19 pandemic is continuing to show new facets with the current dominance of the Delta variant, upcoming Omicron, and other variants likely to follow,\u201d GSK Chief Global Health Officer Thomas Breuer said in a statement.<\/p>\n<p>The vaccine employs a <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/technology\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"4\" title=\"Technology\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">technology<\/a> known as virus-like particles produced in plant cells, which mimic the structure of the coronavirus, but contain no genetic material from it.<\/p>\n<p>The vaccine\u2019s overall efficacy was 71% against all variants of the coronavirus, except Omicron, which was not known to be circulating yet when the study was underway.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1024\" height=\"682\" src=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2021\/12\/medicago-greenhouse.jpg?quality=90&amp;strip=all&amp;w=1024\" alt=\"A Medicago greenhouse in Candad.
