\nAlec Baldwin<\/strong> is hoping to eventually move past the tragic Rust<\/em> shooting with the help of his family.<\/p>\n

As you likely know, the 30 Rock<\/em> alum is at the center of the devastating on-set shooting that resulted in the death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins<\/strong> in October.\u00a0Now, as lawsuits against the actor continue to mount, he\u2019s leaning on his loved ones for support.<\/p>\n

A source told People<\/em> that Alec \u201chas been taking things day by day with his family,\u201d adding:<\/p>\n

\u201cThey are trying to keep things as normal as possible for the kids, but it\u2019s not easy.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The source went on to say that the 63-year-old \u2014 who shares six kids with wife, Hilaria<\/strong>, and is also a father to his eldest daughter, Ireland<\/strong> \u2014 \u201cfeels terrible about what happ<\/a>ened\u2014it\u2019s all been a nightmare.\u201d<\/p>\n

The actor admitted that much during his first interview since the shooting. Last week, Alec told ABC News<\/a><\/strong>\u2018s George Stephanopoulos<\/strong> he\u2019s haunted by the incident and struggles with sleeplessness and exhaustion. He lamented:<\/p>\n

\u201cI would go to any lengths to undo what happened.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The star also alleged during the sit-down that he never actually \u201cpull[ed] the trigger\u201d on the weapon, which contained a live round of ammunition instead of dummy rounds. He explained:<\/p>\n

\u201cThe trigger wasn\u2019t pulled. I didn\u2019t pull the trigger. I let go of the hammer of the gun, and the gun goes off. I would never point a gun at anyone and pull a trigger at them. Never.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

After the interview aired, the New York native posted a picture of himself holding one of his many kiddos. Tagging his wife to thank her for her unending support, he wrote:<\/p>\n

\u201cNo matter what happens to me. No matter what I suffer. If I win or lose, anything. Anything. No one can take away from me the joy and love you have given me. These are tough times. The world is choked with fumes of hate. But you have given me a reason to live. Our life with our family is all I care about. Nothing else. I owe that to you.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Despite Alec\u2019s insistence that he never pulled the trigger, Santa Fe First Judicial District Attorney Mary Carmack-Altwies<\/strong> recently said she hasn\u2019t ruled out criminal charges as the investigation is still ongoing. Last week, the DA warned that \u201ccertain individuals may be criminally culpable for his\/her actions and\/or inactions on the set of Rust<\/em>\u201d \u2014 and by \u201ccertain individuals,\u201d she meant the film\u2019s armorer Hannah Gutierrez-Reed<\/strong> , its first assistant director Dave Halls<\/strong>, and, yes, even Baldwin.<\/p>\n

So it looks like Alec shouldn\u2019t get too comfortable as the probe continues \u2014 but it\u2019s good to he has his family\u2019s support in the meantime.<\/p>\n
