An Albany newspaper editor named Richard Gaikowski was also once considered a suspect, the paper reported. He died in 2004, according to the outlet.<\/p>\n<p>A person claiming to be the infamous killer had sent a threatening letter to The Times Union in 1973 threatening violence in the city, the paper reported.<\/p>\n<p>The menacing missive reportedly read in part:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYOU Were WRONG I AM NOT DEAD OR IN THE HOSPITAL I AM ALIVE AND WELL AND IM GOING TO START KILLING AGAIN Below is the NAME AND LOCATION OF MY NEXT VICTIM But you had Better hurry because I\u2019m going to kill her August 10th at 5 P.M. when the shifts change.
