There are many things you shouldn\u2019t do online. Some are just plain dangerous.<\/p>\n<p>Benign actions can put your info in the hands of clever criminals.\u00a0Take your phone number.<\/p>\n<p>Before we dive into my list of illegal online activities, I must remind you: I\u2019m not a lawyer. Use your best judgment.\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Getting_movies_for_free\"><\/span><strong>Getting movies for free<\/strong>\u00a0<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>This illegal activity shouldn\u2019t be a surprise. <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Download<\/a>ing a movie \u2014 or album, eBook, audiobook, or another piece of media \u2014 from a torrenting site is a no-go. You hear a lot less about torrenting than in years past, given how easy it is to stream just about anything.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Still, people flock to download copies of newly released <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/watch-movies-tv-seriess\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"8\" title=\"Watch Movies &amp; TV Series\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">movies<\/a>. Go to a torrenting site, hit download, and you\u2019re just as likely to get a shaky, dubbed version of what you want to watch as you are the real thing.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>It could get worse. Watch the mail for a warning notice when your ISP detects you have downloaded copyright-protected content. Torrents are a common vector for spreading malware. Stay safe and only use reputable apps and services that have the right to show you what you want to watch.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Using_images_on_your_site_or_videos\"><\/span><strong>Using images on your site or videos<\/strong>\u00a0<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Unless you have express permission or know for sure that a photo is in the public domain, it\u2019s not yours to use or share online. It\u2019s unlikely you\u2019re going to get nailed for copyright infringement by posting a meme on Facebook. However, be especially careful when posting images to your website or using images in your videos.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>At best, you\u2019ll get a slap on the wrist. Today, you\u2019re hit with paywalls on most major sites. Some of us get out our credit cards and often pay for the sites we visit.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Others find clever ways around the paywalls, like browser extensions or other tricks. Before you celebrate, know that it\u2019s illegal. The Digital Millennium Copyright Act says you cannot go around <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/technology\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"4\" title=\"Technology\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">technology<\/a> meant to restrict access to copyrighted material.\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Sharing_passwords\"><\/span>Sharing passwords\u00a0<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Raise your hand if you have ever shared a password for a streaming service or other subscription. Not only is that against the terms you agreed to when you signed up, but it might also be illegal. Depending on how you interpret it, the U.S. Computer Fraud and Abuse Act implies using someone else\u2019s passwords is a federal crime.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Now, don\u2019t expect Netflix to come knocking at your door. Things are changing. You can guess, but the list includes child abuse materials, hiring the services of a criminal and steps to make a bomb.\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Downloading_YouTube_videos\"><\/span><strong>Downloading YouTube videos<\/strong>\u00a0<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Maybe you find a video that perfectly explains a subject you\u2019re trying to learn. You download the video so you can reference it again later. No harm, right? Not so fast.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>According to YouTube\u2019s terms of service, you cannot download content without express permission from the creator. And, of course, standard copyright laws apply, too.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Videos that fall into the Public Domain, Creative Commons and CopyLeft are fair <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/game\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"7\" title=\"Game\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">game<\/a> for downloading, though you could still be violating YouTube\u2019s Terms of Service.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Stick to adding videos you want to come back to a playlist.\n                        <\/p><\/div>\n<blockquote><p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">If you liked the article, do not forget to share it with your friends.
