The cruise ship-like hotel, dubbed \u201cStar Wars Galactic Starcruiser,\u201d is the centerpiece of a two-night voyage through a virtual Star Wars galaxy that\u2019s set at Disney World in Florida.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOnce on board, you\u2019ll cruise to the galaxy for two days and two nights while becoming the hero of your very own \u2018Star Wars\u2019 adventure,\u201d former chairman of Disney parks, Bob Chapek, said at a company presentation back in 2017, when announcing the concept, according to the report.<\/p>\n<p>Fans apparently weren\u2019t impressed by the final product shared on social media at the end of November.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe \u2018light saber training\u2019 looks about as exciting as a roadside sobriety test,\u201d one Disney watcher commented on YouTube. \u201cIt\u2019s way too expensive,\u201d another said.<\/p>\n<p>Disney did not immediately return requests from The Post for comment.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1024\" height=\"974\" src=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2021\/12\/star-wars-grab-04.jpg?quality=90&amp;strip=all&amp;w=1024\" alt=\"A screen grab of the Disney Hotel welcome video featuring a purple-faced concierge.\" class=\"wp-image-20470981\" srcset=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2021\/12\/star-wars-grab-04.jpg?quality=90&amp;strip=all 1024w, https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2021\/12\/star-wars-grab-04.jpg?quality=90&amp;strip=all&amp;w=512 512w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\"\/><figcaption>Disney circulated a low-fi welcome video to guests of its new hotel, featuring an alien concierge. The video apparently didn\u2019t match expectations that had been juiced by Disney\u2019s marketing.<\/p>\n<p>It sparked a firestorm of criticism from fans.
