This time, his Peter\u2019s got gravitas, emotional oomph, brutality, believable love, an anguished scene in the rain! The movie is the actor\u2019s best performance yet, in anything, Spandex or no.<\/p>\n<div class=\"inline-module inline-module--review alignleft\">\n<div class=\"inline-module__inner\">\n        <span class=\"inline-module--review__eyebrow widget-heading-semi__label\"><br \/>\n            movie review        <\/span><\/p>\n<p>        Running time: 148 minutes.\u00a0Rated PG-13 (sequences of action\/violence, some language and brief suggestive comments.) In theaters Dec. 17.\n    <\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Jon Watts\u2019 Spidey reboot <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/watch-movies-tv-seriess\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"8\" title=\"Watch Movies &amp; TV Series\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">series<\/a>, which shrewdly re-envisions the web-slinger\u2019s adventures as old high school comedies, still delivers on the jokes, only it\u2019s starting to nix the constant cute and instead embraces the mythic power that pulsed through Sam Raimi\u2019s aughts films. There\u2019s a healthy dose of seriousness here that Kevin Feige\u2019s Marvel Cinematic Universe has, for the most part, given The Blip.<\/p>\n<p>And newfound dramatic weight isn\u2019t the only element from the older films at play in \u201cNo Way Home.\u201d (Don\u2019t worry, spoiler paranoiacs, I\u2019m not going to reveal anything in this review that\u2019s not clearly visible from readily available movie trailers that\u00a0you\u2019ve watched two million times.)<\/p>\n<p>Watts likes to aggressively shake up his films\u2019 circumstances, so at the start, the vanquished Mysterio (Jake Gyllenhaal) has revealed that Spider-Man\u2019s true identity is Queens high school student Peter Parker. The <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">media<\/a> \u2014 led by The Daily Bugle\u2019s editor J. Jonah Jameson (J.K. Simmons) \u2014 descend on his apartment and condemn the poor kid as a villain. \u201cThe web-headed war criminal!\u201d Jameson screams. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Peter\u2019s controversy causes MJ (Zendaya) and Ned (Jacob Batalon) to be rejected by MIT, so the guilt-stricken teen asks magical Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) to make everyone forget he was ever Spidey. However, they don\u2019t all look alike or even have the same name.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Villains from the past films that featured Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield start pouring into New York. Doctor Octopus (Alfred Molina), Electro (Jamie Foxx), Sandman (Thomas Haden Church) and the greatest Marvel actor ever, Willem Dafoe as the Green Goblin, all collide in the same place and time.<\/p>\n<p>Dafoe remains exquisite as Norman Osborne, by the way, and sinks his teeth into the Jekyll and Hyde shtick like a Wendy\u2019s Baconator. You\u2019ll have never left a Marvel film with so much uncertainty as to what comes next. In the best possible way, it feels like the director is saying, \u201cTry getting rid of me now, suckers!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A lot of folks will dismiss parts of his pathologically enjoyable movie as \u201cfan service,\u201d an irksome and overused phrase that\u2019s dismissive of, you know, pleasing paying audience members. It\u2019s true that some of the reunion banter between the baddies is forced, and Peter\u2019s choices in the lead-up can be quizzical.<\/p>\n<p>But if, like me, you were 12 when you saw 2002\u2019s \u201cSpider-Man,\u201d 22 when you were somewhat less taken by \u201cThe Amazing Spider-Man\u201d and \u2014 ugh, you do the math\u00a0\u2014\u00a0at \u201cNo Way Home,\u201d you\u2019ll be thankful you have a dumb mask to conceal your ugly emotional face when the credits roll. \u00a0\n                        <\/p><\/div>\n<blockquote><p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">If you liked the article, do not forget to share it with your friends.
