Jeff Garlin is abruptly departing hit sitcom \u201cThe Goldbergs\u201d following a series<\/a> of misconduct allegations and a network investigation into the actor\u2019s allegedly \u201cabusive\u201d behavior on set. <\/p>\n

The bombshell exit comes several weeks after the comedia<\/a>n, 59, publicly revealed that he had not been fired from the long-running ABC sitcom.<\/p>\n

According to sources close to the show, it was a mutual decision for Garlin not to return to the series, Deadline reported.<\/a> Meanwhile, the comedian\u2019s termination is effective immediately \u2014 and he will not complete his work on the remainder of \u201cThe Goldbergs’\u201d ninth season. <\/p>\n

\u201cCurb Your Enthusiasm\u201d star Garlin, who played curmudgeonly patriarch Murray Christian Goldberg, admitted to Vanity Fair<\/a> that he had been the subject of a human resources department probe over the last three years due to his on-set conduct.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe is extremely verbally and emotionally abusive,\u201d an anonymous \u201cGoldbergs\u201d employee told Deadline. <\/p>\n
