The mysteries will continue to unfold. Yellowjackets<\/em> has been renewed for a second season on Showtime. The first season wraps on January 16th.<\/p>\n

A horror and coming-of-age drama series, the Yellowjackets<\/em> TV show stars Melanie Lynskey, Juliette Lewis, Christina Ricci, Tawny Cypress, Ella Purnell, Sammi Hanratty, Sophie Thatcher, Sophie N\u00e9lisse, Steven Krueger, and Jasmin Savoy Brown. The story begins with a team of wildly talented high-school girls soccer players who survive a plane crash deep in the Ontario wilderness. The series chronicles their descent from a complicated but thriving team to warring clans that are able to survive for 19 months. The show also picks up 25 years later, tracking the lives the survivors have attempted to piece back together as adults \u2014 while revealing the truth about their survival.<\/em> <\/span><\/p>\n

Airing on Sunday nights, the first season of Yellowjackets<\/em> averages a 0.03 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 2.15 million viewers in the live+same day ratings (including DVR playback through 3:00 AM). It\u2019s a middle-of-the-road performer in the traditional ratings but, like other pay-for-view channels, Showtime is interested in retaining subscribers, not attracting advertisers.<\/p>\n

LOS ANGELES \u2013 December 16, 2021 \u2013 SHOWTIME has renewed the critically acclaimed survival drama YELLOWJACKETS for a second season. Created and executive produced by Ashley Lyle and Bart Nickerson (Narcos), the one-hour drama series stars Melanie Lynskey (Castle Rock), Oscar(R) and Emmy(R) nominee Juliette Lewis (Camping), Emmy nominee Christina Ricci (Z: The Beginning of Everything) and Tawny Cypress (Unforgettable). Jonathan Lisco (Animal Kingdom, Halt and Catch Fire) joins Lyle and Nickerson as executive producer and showrunning partner. Produced for SHOWTIME by studio Entertainment One (eOne), Karyn Kusama (Destroyer, Girlfight) executive produces and directed the pilot. Drew Comins of Creative Engine also serves as executive producer. The premiere of YELLOWJACKETS has been seen by over 4 million viewers across platforms to date. Season one of YELLOWJACKETS, which received a Critics\u2019 Choice nomination for \u2018Best Drama Series,\u2019 is currently airing Sunday nights at 10 p.m. ET\/PT and will finale on Sunday, January 16. The announcement was made today by Gary Levine and Jana Winograde, Presidents of Entertainment, Showtime Networks Inc.<\/p>\n
