{"id":382275,"date":"2021-12-17T10:36:53","date_gmt":"2021-12-17T07:36:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/en.buradabiliyorum.com\/crazy-how-good-hes-hitting\/"},"modified":"2021-12-17T10:36:53","modified_gmt":"2021-12-17T07:36:53","slug":"crazy-how-good-hes-hitting","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/crazy-how-good-hes-hitting\/","title":{"rendered":"#&#8217;Crazy how good he&#8217;s hitting&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&#8220;<strong>#&#8217;Crazy how good he&#8217;s hitting&#8217;<\/strong>&#8221;<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2021\/12\/Tiger-Woods-1.jpg?quality=90&amp;strip=all\" \/><\/p>\n<div>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module alignleft\">\n<\/aside>\n<p>ORLANDO, Fla. \u2014 The father of Justin Thomas got the first look at Tiger Woods playing a round of golf since his car crash 10 months ago, and he saw more than he expected.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s crazy how good he\u2019s hitting \u2014 and far he\u2019s hitting \u2014 for what he\u2019s been through,\u201d Mike Thomas said Thursday at the PNC Championship. \u201cIt\u2019s impressive where he\u2019s at.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Next up for Woods is playing in front of an audience.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s one thing for the 15-time major champion to play with 12-year-old son Charlie, with Mike Thomas along for the ride, last week near his home in south Florida. It\u2019s another to tee it up in front of thousands of spectators and on network TV.<\/p>\n<p>Just 10 months ago, Woods shattered bones in his right leg, ankle and foot when the SUV he was driving along a winding suburban road in Los Angeles crashed through a <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">media<\/a>n and down a hill. Woods was immobilized for three months in a makeshift hospital bed in his house.<\/p>\n<p>He went from crutches to slowly walking. He was hitting balls on the back end of the range at Albany during his Hero World Challenge two weeks ago in the Bahamas.<\/p>\n<p>And though the PNC Championship \u2014 20 teams of parents and children, one of them a major champion or Players Championship winner \u2014 is a family affair, the score counts. Woods will be able to ride a cart if he chooses.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module alignright\">\n    <\/aside>\n<p>\u201cMy excitement level is high just for him being out here and being somewhere other than his house and getting to see a lot of familiar faces,\u201d said Justin Thomas, one of his closest friends on tour who won the PNC Challenge last year with his father, a longtime club pro. \u201cAnd I know spending time with Charlie is a huge deal to him.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn terms of competing, I think his expectations are very low,\u201d Thomas said. \u201cBut at the same time, he is who is for a reason. So I\u2019m sure he\u2019ll be [ticked] off if he didn\u2019t play well.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Woods was not expected until the Friday pro-am.<\/p>\n<p>Among the teams is a pair of major champions \u2014 Nelly Korda (Women\u2019s PGA Championship) and her father, Petr (Australian Open tennis in 1998). Korda said she hardly ever watches golf except when Woods is playing, and now she\u2019ll be playing in the group ahead of him at the Ritz Carlton Golf Club Orlando.<\/p>\n<p>Korda said it would be a chance to create memories with her father, but that\u2019s not all.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPlaying right in front of Tiger Woods is pretty cool, too,\u201d she said. \u201cI\u2019m not going to lie. I\u2019m being a little selfish here, but that\u2019s pretty cool.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Woods and son will be playing in the final group with the Thomas duo, a pair of familiar faces. Thomas was among the players from the next generation who often stopped by his house to encourage Woods when he was recovering from fusion surgery in 2017.<\/p>\n<p>Now it\u2019s a family affair. Mike Thomas specialized in working with juniors when he was at Harmony Landing outside Louisville, Ky. Though technically not his coach, he has been a second set of eyes for Charlie, and the 12-year-old has taken to Justin Thomas.<\/p>\n<p>Thomas, meanwhile, has turned to Woods as a mentor. He said Woods has shared plenty of nuances about golf and competition, which he doesn\u2019t plan on sharing because he considers it to be an advantage. And there is a lot that Woods doesn\u2019t tell him.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBecause he knows that he still likes golf and wants to beat me when we\u2019re playing,\u201d Thomas said with a laugh. \u201cBut I think just being there as a friend is most important as a mentor, kind of pushing each other along the way.\u201d\n                        <\/p><\/div>\n<blockquote><p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">If you liked the article, do not forget to share it with your friends.
