The term originated as a <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=_bW4vEo1F4E\">Monty Python TV comedy sketch<\/a> reference that was <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>lied to high volumes of disruptive messages in early online services, then to unsolicited emails on the internet in the 1990s. In the Monty Python sketch, a woman in a restaurant is confronted with a menu full of items made with <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Spam_(food)\">Spam (the food product)<\/a> to a frustrating and repetitive degree.<\/p>\n<p>Since then, the term \u201cspam\u201d has generally become applied to any high-volume unwanted communications, including telephone calls and even physical paper mailings at times. Spam is a scourge of the modern connected world, and avoiding it is difficult.<\/p>\n<h2 role=\"heading\" aria-level=\"2\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Can_I_Silence_%E2%80%9CSpam_Risk%E2%80%9D_Calls\"><\/span>Can I Silence \u201cSpam Risk\u201d Calls?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>If you\u2019re tired of being disturbed by calls labeled Spam Risk, you can turn on a feature called \u201cSilence Unknown Callers\u201d on your iPhone (in iOS 13 and up).
