data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>arently.<\/p>\n<p> In response to a big Thursday dip and some early morning boffo box-office results for \u201cSpider-Man: No Way Home,\u201d stock in AMC Entertainment<br \/>\n        AMC,<br \/>\n        <bg-quote field=\"percentchange\" format=\"0,000.00%\" channel=\"\/zigman2\/quotes\/200235402\/composite\" class=\"positive\">+19.10%<\/bg-quote><br \/>\n       soared more than 19% on Friday as the theatre chain\u2019s loyal army of <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">social media<\/a> \u201cApes\u201d piled into the trade, pushing the price briefly above $30 a share for the first time on over two weeks.<\/p>\n<div class=\"paywall\">\n       And like many surges in AMC in 2021, Friday\u2019s move was keyed in part by a tweet from the company\u2019s CEO Adam Aron.<\/p>\n<div data-layout=\"inline\n                \" data-layout-mobile=\"\" class=\"\n          media-object\n          type-InsetTweet\n            inline\n    scope-web|mobileapps\n  article__inset\n          article__inset--type-InsetTweet\n            article__inset--inline\n  \"><\/p>\n<div class=\"dynamic-inset-container article__inset__dynamic\">\n<style>\n            iframe.twitter-tweet {\n                width: 100% !important;\n            }\n        <\/style>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" lang=\"en\"><p>\n            <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/CEOAdam\/status\/1471834015015522305\"><\/a>\n            <\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>        <script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>       Those numbers are even more \u201cstaggering\u201d considering that the omicron variant is spreading at an alarming rate and the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell more than 530 points on Friday as investors braced for a tidal wave of COVID cases hitting a week before Christmas.<\/p>\n<p>On Reddit, the vibe was\u2026different.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cApes something is happening,\u201d was the title of one popular Friday morning post on subreddit r\/AMCStock. \u201cDow down almost 600 and we are rocketing.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI call it \u2018The Spidey Effect,\u2019 AKA \u2018The Peter Tingle,&#8217;\u201d responded a fellow Ape.<\/p>\n<p>Still, other Apes were not yet appeased.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis isn\u2019t MOASS,\u201d cautioned one user. \u201cThis is a teenie, weenie spike. Yawn. Don\u2019t get excited, until it raises 10,000% minimum.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>But that might be tough, at least in the short-term.<\/p>\n<div id=\"cx-membership-tile\"><\/div>\n<p>At a Thursday White House briefing, President Joe Biden warned that omicron is \u201chere now and it\u2019s spreading and it\u2019s gonna increase.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He went on to predict that unvaccinated Americans are facing a \u201cwinter of severe illness and death.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A spread like March 2020, even with many Americans vaccinated potentially lessening hospitalizations, will put a crimp in AMC\u2019s bottom line. That\u2019s not a fault of AMC\u2019s or a prediction that it won\u2019t rebound after the wave crests, but it is a very likely outcome.<\/p>\n<p>And there\u2019s also a tough case to make that AMC is currently squeezable. According to Ortex, short interest on AMC was flat on Friday, holding steady at just over 20% of the entire float. <\/p>\n<p>Interestingly, Fidelity\u2019s buy-to-sell ratio was essentially flat on the day, giving the sense that some paper-handed Apes might have cashed in with an eye on the variant.
