“#Cucuruz Doan\u2019s Island Will Release in Early Summer 2022<\/strong>”<\/p>\n

An early summer 2022 release date has been announced for the upcoming Mobile Suit Gundam: Cucuruz Doan\u2019s Island<\/em> movie. An announcement video, which previews Amuro Ray and a CG-rendered RX-78-2 Gundam, and a teaser visual were also released.<\/span><\/p>\n

Mobile Suit Gundam: Cucuruz Doan\u2019s Island<\/a> <\/em>was announced in September as one of three new Mobile Suit Gundam projects for 2022. The name comres from the original 1979\u00a0Mobile Suit Gundam<\/em> series<\/a>\u2019 15th episode, which was not released in North America. The\u00a0SUNRISE English Twitter account<\/a>\u00a0said that the Cucuruz Doan\u2019s Island\u00a0<\/em>movie will depict the original episode \u201cfrom a new angle.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Yoshikazu Yasuhiko<\/strong>, the character designer and animation director of the original series, is directing the movie. The other staff includes Im Ga-Hee<\/strong> (Sonny Boy<\/em> episode director) as assistant director, Toshizou Nemoto<\/strong> (Bakuten!!<\/em>) as script<\/a>writer, Yuuji Kaneko<\/strong> (Josee, Tiger and the Fish<\/em>) as art director, Nagisa Abe<\/strong> (SCARLET NEXUS<\/em>) as color designer, Morihito Abe<\/strong> (Mobile Suit Gundam: Hathaway<\/em> co-CG director) as CG director, and Takayuki Hattori<\/strong> (Space Brothers<\/em> live-action movie) as music composer.<\/span><\/p>\n

Yasuhiko<\/strong>, Atsushi Tamura<\/strong> (Weathering with You<\/em> co-character designer), and Tsukasa Kotobuki<\/strong> (Mobile Suit Gundam: The Origin<\/em> co-character designer) are serving as character designers, while Kunio Okawara<\/strong> (GUNDAM BREAKER BATTLOGUE<\/em> co-mecha designer, Mobile Suit Gundam<\/em>), Hajime Katoki<\/strong> (Mobile Suit Gundam 0083: Stardust Memory<\/em> and Mobile Suit Gundam: Hathaway<\/em> co-mecha designer), and Kimitoshi Yamane<\/strong> (Mobile Fighter G Gundam<\/em> and Mobile Suit Gundam: Hathaway<\/em> co-mecha designer) are serving as mecha designers. Sunrise<\/strong> is the animation production company.<\/span><\/p>\n
