The acknowledgment of the attack was followed by requesting investors to withdraw their pool funds and disabling the reward claims on the compromised platform.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Bent Finance first <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/BENT_Finance\/status\/1473109745942687745\">realized<\/a> the exploit on Monday at roughly 8:55 PM EST, a timeline when the company <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/BENT_Finance\/status\/1473109747574317056\">reported<\/a> no loss of funds. However, the community suspected a rug-pull event when blockchain investigator PeckShield allegedly located the source of the hack transactions.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">We have located the hack tx, which interestingly is sent from the  Bent Finance: Deployer <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/BENT_Finance?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@BENT_Finance<\/a> !!! (@peckshield) <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/peckshield\/status\/1473175071560994816?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">December 21, 2021<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><br \/>\n\u201cYes, we see the same and are working through it right now,\u201d said Bent Finance as the team <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>ointed two independent white hat developers to get a better understanding of the unfolding situation. The company confirmed soon after:<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">1\/ There was an exploit from the bent deployer address, it added balance of cvxcrv and mim to an address on an unvierifed update 20 days ago. We just discovered this today. There are multiple members on this team and we will make this right.<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Bent Finance  (@BENT_Finance) <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/BENT_Finance\/status\/1473188374492053505?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">December 21, 2021<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>Bent Finance continues to advise its pool investors to withdraw the funds until the exploit is addressed with every update. However, the company has <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/BENT_Finance\/status\/1473138058849488899\">confirmed<\/a> to recover all stolen funds from the Bent curve pool:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cWe recommend you withdraw from the protocol until further notice. We are not going anywhere and will recover from this one way or another.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>According to crypto fraud investigator and former member of the US Secret Service Joe McGill of TRM Labs, the attackers managed to steal approximately 440 Ethereum (ETH), worth more than $1.6 million at the time of writing. <\/p>\n<p>McGill\u2019s investigations <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/joes_mcgill\/status\/1473134850706182158?s=20\">hinted<\/a> that the attack has been ongoing since Dec. 12, which contradicts Bent Finance\u2019s <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/BENT_Finance\/status\/1473188374492053505?s=20\">finding<\/a> that suspects the attacker\u2019s presence over the network since Dec. 1. <\/p>\n<p>In December alone, five crypto companies \u2014 including Grim Finance, BitMart and AscendEX \u2014 cumulatively lost over $600 million as a direct result of a successful hack.
