\n Chris Noth’s former co-stars from Sex and the City<\/em> and its sequel series<\/a> And Just Like That…<\/em> have spoken out on the recent allegations against the actor. According to a recent report published by The Hollywood Reporter<\/a>, two women have accused Noth of sexual assault. Noth released a statement of his own emphatically denying the allegations.

\n While Noth has not been charged with a crime at this time, the allegations have brought about major consequences to his career. He had already been written out of And Just Like That…<\/em>, but a Peloton ad featuring Noth that spoofed his character’s death was pulled by the company. Noth was also fired from his role on The Equalizer<\/em>, dropped by his agency, and a $12 million deal he had in place to sell his tequila brand is no longer moving forward.

The stars of And Just Like That…<\/em> have now broken their silence on the situation. Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon, and Kristin Davis released a joint statement providing an official comment, and their stance is in support of the accusers. The statement was shared on their social media<\/a> accounts. <\/p>\n

“We are deeply saddened to hear the allegations against Chris Noth,” the statement reads, with all three names signed at the bottom. “We support the women who have come forward and shared their painful experiences. We know it must be a very difficult thing to do and we commend them for it.”

\n \u201cThe accusations against me made by individuals I met years, even decades, ago are categorically false,” Noth has said in his own statement. “These stories could\u2019ve been from 30 years ago or 30 days ago \u2014 no always means no \u2014 that is a line I did not cross. The encounters were consensual. It\u2019s difficult not to question the timing of these stories coming out. I don\u2019t know for certain why they are surfacing now, but I do know this: I did not assault these women.\u201d

\n The And Just Like That…<\/em> team might have fired Noth from the show as well if they didn’t get a head start on that already by killing off his character. In the first episode of the Sex and the City<\/em> spinoff series, Noth’s Mr. Big returned only to die while using his Peloton exercise bicycle. This allowed for Sarah Jessica Parker’s Carrie Bradshaw to pursue new romantic opportunities in the sequel series without being tied down to Mr. Big. It also meant HBO Max didn’t have to bother with firing Noth or writing out the character in another way, as would most likely happ<\/a>en if Big was still alive.
\n<\/p>\n

Even before the sexual assault allegations, Mr. Big’s death had drawn some major problems for Peloton. The company hadn’t realized that their product would be featured in Noth’s death scene when they agreed to have it featured in the show. They were hoping to control some of the damage by bringing back Noth for a spoof ad with the help of Ryan Reynolds, but now they’re distancing themselves from Noth as well with the ad getting pulled.

\n And Just Like That…<\/em> is streaming on HBO Max along with classic episodes of Sex and the City<\/em>. <\/p>\n
