\nSelling Sunset<\/em>\u2019s hottest new power couple is no more.<\/p>\n

As we previously reported, Chrishell Stause<\/strong> and Jason Oppenheim<\/strong> broke up five months after going public with their relationship. The news<\/a> definitely came as a surprise for fans of the Netflix<\/strong> show, as the office romance was teased as one of the major storylines for the upcoming fifth season.<\/p>\n

On Tuesday, the former soap opera star opened up about the split on Instagram<\/strong>, writing:<\/p>\n

\u201cI have tried to embrace the world I have found myself in and that includes being open and honest about my relationships. It felt scary and terrifying knowing that it may not end in what society deems a success and what I am ultimately looking for. But after many long heartfelt talks, I am choosing to see it as a success no matter what label is attached to it publicly.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

She went on to reveal the real reason behind the breakup \u2013 and it\u2019s a heartbreakingly relatable one:<\/p>\n

\u201cJason was and is my best friend, and other than our ideas for a family ultimately not being aligned, the amount of respect and love we have for each other will not change going forward. Men have the luxury of time that women don\u2019t and that\u2019s just the way it goes.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

\u201cThat\u2019s just the way it goes\u201d is right. We respect Chrishell for knowing what she wants and pursuing it even when it\u2019s tough.<\/p>\n

The 40-year-old continued to say that \u201cnavigating this public terrain is difficult\u201d and while she\u2019d rather stay professional with her public life, she stated \u201cI understand this comes with it\u201d and is grateful for the opportunities that have come from Selling Sunset<\/em>. She added:<\/p>\n

\u201cAlthough my initial reaction to a private situation was to not speak on it, sometimes it\u2019s easier to just live transparently, because I only get one chance at this life.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The reality star concluded:<\/p>\n

\u201cI very much hope to one day have a family and decisions I make at this point are with that goal in mind. Thank you for the kindness and support to those that understand. And thank you Jason for the most incredible relationship and for consistently being honest with me even when it hurts.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
