He recently told CNN, \u201cOur new research using 3-D microscopy shows that we have all been victims of a sperm deception.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Dutch scientist Antoine van Leeuwenhoek was the first to discover spermatozoa when he very much deliberately observed his own ejaculate under the state-of-the-art microscope he\u2019d recently invented over 340 years ago.<\/p>\n<p>He told the UK Royal Society in 1678 that the \u201canimalcules,\u201d as he called them, \u201cmoved forward owing to the motion of their tails like that of a snake or an eel swimming in water.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_16068283\"><img alt=\"3D model of spermatozoa \" data- data- height=\"441\" width=\"662\"><\/img><figcaption><span>polymaths-lab.com<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>By essentially str<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>ing a nano camera to the sex cell, researchers have discovered that the male reproductive cell actually only beats to one side, which might send them in circles if those relentless swimmers hadn\u2019t figured out how to twist and paddle at the same time.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHuman sperm figured out if they roll as they swim, much like playful otters corkscrewing through water, their one-sided stroke would average itself out, and they would swim forward,\u201d said study author Gadelha, whose team was so shocked by what they saw that they repeated their work over and over for two years to absolutely confirm their findings, which now appear in the latest issue of <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/sciencee\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"5\" title=\"Science\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Science<\/a> Advances.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe rotation of the sperm is something that is very important. It\u2019s something that allows the sperm to regain a symmetry and actually be able to go straight,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Their big question: Are some more agile than others, and does that have any bearing on the babies they create?<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt could be that the rolling motion hides some subtle aspects about the health of this sperm or how well it can <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/trip-and-travel\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"10\" title=\"Trip &amp; Travel\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">travel<\/a> quickly,\u201d Gadelha said. \u201cThese are all very hypothetical questions. What we hope is that more scientists and fertility experts will become interested and ask, \u2018OK, how does this influence infertility?\u2019\u2009\u201d<\/p>\n<p>After debunking his predecessor, Gadelha still doesn\u2019t believe we\u2019ve yet discovered everything there is to know about human procreation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<span>Who knows what we will find next?\u201d he said. \u201cThis is a measurement given by an instrument that has its limitations.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>What\u2019s next?
